Thanks for the assurance, Hyacinth! And my apologies for not following the format. I am very happy that my assumptions are wrong. I just wasn't sure, you see, but I am glad that the bag looks ok to you. Many thanks. Will remember your advice for the future. :)

Please don't ever compare different styles of Coaches to each other for authentication. Every style has different details. And I don't know where you heard that Coach hardware is supposed to be stamped with the name - it's NOT. The more the name is stamped on the hardware, the bigger the chance that it's fake, except for a few Business & Travel pieces.

The only thing you should ever compare a Coach to is another Coach in exactly the same style made in the same month, year and plant, and if possible, the same color, like this one
http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-KRIST...876?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item20ca7eb884.

BTW, please read post #1 of this thread for the format we need to authenticate. Completed auctions should have the auction number and seller name included in your future posts.

There's nothing wrong with the one you bought.

I don't even know what it's supposed to be. It's probably fake but I can't prove it.

Reminds me of my 10050 XL SOHO Tobacco Braided Pocket Tote-maybe same family with the straps replaced? The pictures aren't good enough to tell for sure.

FAKE. The C pattern is off-center, the stitching on the patent trim is bad and the patent is probably the wrong color, and the Cs are too big. I don't think Coach made that pink color either.

Here's the real one

Very different straps though, and the leather and especially the straps on the black Signature version look a lot thinner and cheaper than the genuine all-leather one. But the extended top zipper on the black one makes me thing it may be fake. Coach hardly ever uses extended zippers like that, I remember seeing maybe half a dozen over the last 30 years.

And I know you can never depend on a hangtag, but the hangtag and the ball chain it's on don't look like genuine Coach, the chain is pretty thin and the hangtag looks too small for the bag. I'm 75 percent sure it's fake but I'd never report it without seeing the creed to confirm.

Comments: Not too sure about the serial/registration number in this one based on what I've read online but then again, am not an expert. Would appreciate any authentication thanks!

Genuine, and actually Vintage too. It's a Convertible Clutch, style 9635 from the mid to late 1980s.

Thank you, Hyacinth. I appreciate you sharing your expertise with me. I'm pleased to know it's genuine. She is lovely, IMO.

I'll be posting a few more, as I'm catching up with my collection. Trying to learn how to best photograph lighter stamped creeds. I have two.

It's perfectly genuine. I don't know the exact style name but it's from the late 1990s Bridle line, possibly a Bridle Demi or something similar.

I can't read the creed statement or the serial number on the first one, but I don't have a good feeling about it. If the serial prefix is actually M4N-, that prefix is used in a lot of fakes and the plant code only belongs to Mexico and wouldn't have been valid for the year code shown on the creed patch. If the full number is M4N-4154, that's a serial number that has always shown up in fakes so far and never genuine bags. Your instinct about it being fake is probably right.

The second one's a genuine Flatiron Sling from 1997
