Could someone please tell me if this is authentic or not? It ends in a little over an hour.
thanks

Thanks Hyacinth, I was almost hoping you'd say it was a fake, lol. I just love it but I'll really be in the doghouse if I buy another bag this week. Oh dear, what to do now?
thanks for your quick response

Go for it! It's a beautiful color!;)

Very different straps though, and the leather and especially the straps on the black Signature version look a lot thinner and cheaper than the genuine all-leather one. But the extended top zipper on the black one makes me thing it may be fake. Coach hardly ever uses extended zippers like that, I remember seeing maybe half a dozen over the last 30 years.

And I know you can never depend on a hangtag, but the hangtag and the ball chain it's on don't look like genuine Coach, the chain is pretty thin and the hangtag looks too small for the bag. I'm 75 percent sure it's fake but I'd never report it without seeing the creed to confirm.

I wouldn't have caught the zipper, that's why you're the master. I was thinking it was more along the lines of this bag:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&viewitem=&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc#ht_5954wt_952

and that someone had switched the handles. Even if the bag was authentic, and the straps were from Coach, it would totally negate their claim that the bag was "new".

I love poking around in this thread, I always learn something. :)

I can't read the creed statement or the serial number on the first one, but I don't have a good feeling about it. If the serial prefix is actually M4N-, that prefix is used in a lot of fakes and the plant code only belongs to Mexico and wouldn't have been valid for the year code shown on the creed patch. If the full number is M4N-4154, that's a serial number that has always shown up in fakes so far and never genuine bags. Your instinct about it being fake is probably right.

The second one's a genuine Flatiron Sling from 1997
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it:)

Please help authenticate, thanks!

Geeze, Im sorry. I did not know all of the rules, I am new to this site. But thanks for such a warm welcome. And by working for COACH once means two years.

Oh FOR PETE'S SAKE, NOT AGAIN!!

Once again I'm going to repeat what I said about the "other" poster (or maybe the same poster who's trying the same thing with a new ID):

Unfortunately it's been my experience that almost every single new poster here who claimed they "could spot a fake a mile away" wouldn't actually recognize one if it flew up their nose dragging a neon sign flashing "FAKE!" every second.

WE DON'T RECOMMEND THAT NEW POSTERS TRY TO AUTHENTICATE UNTIL THEY GAIN EXPERIENCE AND EARN THE RESPECT AND CONFIDENCE OF FORUM MEMBERS, AND THAT POSTERS ASKING FOR AUTHENTICATION PLEASE DO NOT ACCEPT THE OPINIONS OF SOMEONE WHO HAS NO TRACK RECORD WITH THIS OR ANY OTHER FORUM OR AUTHENTICATION SERVICE.

This is mine that I found while cleaning.

Please help identify as it seems very old. The material is odd to me, too, seems leather but very stiff. It was made in Spain as it's embossed on the interior leather. Thank you for any help.

It's genuine, from the early 2000s. Coach made quite a few smaller leather goods like wallets in Spain and other countries where they didn't make handbags. Two or three conditioning treatments might help soften the leather.
