It's hard to say for sure, that J8P- prefix has usually been used in bags made at the Costa Rica plant, and it would be unusual for bags using the same plant code and made in the same month and year to come from 2 different locations. It's possible but without more evidence I can't be 100 percent sure. So possibly genuine with a question mark.

Also the brighter blue thread showing in several of the photos is ringing alarm bells - the stitching in those areas should match the leather exactly. Coach had plenty of experience in getting thread to match their leathers and an obvious color difference worries me unless large parts of that bag have been restitched by someone who couldn't find thread to match. The stitching in the photo of the leather tab holding the D-ring for the strap doesn't look even either, I'm seeing different-size stitches.

When I initially saw the bag I thought that it had been repaired as well...then I started looking closer and noticed that the thread is a different color all through the bag :(
When I took a closer look at it in the light today I also saw the D rings holding the strap don't seem to be brass and they are crooked
(like a bent ring would be almost)
Oh poop...she is probably a fake AND I have been hunting for a Navy City bag ;(
I think my excitement got the best of me with this one...grrr

The creed photo doesn't seem to belong to the same bag. The lining is supposed to be Beige, not dark gray, and the creed patch looks like Tan in the other photo. You may want to ask the seller for a clear readable photo of the actual patch and serial number of the bag being sold.

Thanks Hyacinth. I'll check with the seller.

Never mind what I just typed, you said it was a yard sale purchase. There's not much you can do then, I doubt if the seller would take it back.

It's a long shot, but I have 4 pictures of Coach's that are here locally and wish to know if any of these may or may not look genuine before any purchases are made. Iwsh there was tags or closer pictures but its unavailable on all the products. Thanks :)

All I can say about any of them is that they all could be legitimate styles. I'm excluding the shoes because I don't know a thing about Coach styles but again, they may also be genuine. What little I can see isn't raising any red flags so far. If you can get clear, readable photos of the creed patches for the ones that have creeds it would be a big help, although since several of them are smaller bags they might not.
