Item: Slim Vintage Briefcase

Comments: I won this item over the weekend. It's in poor shape but it was only 20 bucks. This is obviously authentic vintage Coach, I'm just wondering why Saks Fifth Avenue would have put their own label over Coach's? Any ideas? :smile1:
Those look like mildew stains. I have this same bag but mine rehabbed beautifully. It used to be common for department stores to put their own label inside items they were selling. You can sometimes find bargains in thrift stores if the label obscures the fact that it is a Coach product.

I've seen other stores do the same thing.

My Bonnie Cashin Coach Attachette had a Saks label on top of the Coach label, that's why she was only $2 at the Salvation Army Store! :graucho:

It seems authentic, although I don't know why the seller claims it's 1992 vintage when the serial number clearly shows it was made in 1996, and so technically it's not considered Vintage.
I have a feeling this seller does not know much about coach just by the info given. Do you think this is navy? She describes it as" black with a blue hue"

I'll have to get with you about removing mildew stains; I figured they were just water spots but I don't want to end up sealing in mildew with Leather Honey!

Thanks, everybody! ;)
