ITEM: Coach New Willis: Vermillion

COMMENTS:
Just received this new Willis from ebay and wanted to make sure it was authentic. The leather on the bag seems a little stiffer than my navy Willis that I purchased from the Coach store and the color seems lighter in person (this can be just pic variations with the monitor and lighting). I have a return option with the seller and she guaranteed authenticity so hopefully if it's not authentic I can return it. Would love to hear your input-- thank you!

I hope she understands that strictly speaking, it's not a wallet. It's what Coach calls a Multi Case - there's room for maybe half a dozen cards and there are slots for bills and a checkbook, but there isn't any kind of secure or zipped pocket for coins and other small items. I have one that's used just for a checkbook and grocery club cards, all my other cards, coins, papers and bills go into a regular wallet.

The ones with that style number all seem to be genuine.

Sorry, I've never really looked at the new version and can't be much help.

Have you searched through the posts about the New Willis at the main Coach forum? I know there are a lot of them, but I seem to remember some comments about leather feel and colors. The posters who actually have bought them are probably your best source for accurate information about how they're supposed to be. According to the codes, yours was made in November 2011 so you need to find information about Willises made during that period.

If any of our Authenticators have any personal experience with the issues you're experiencing, I hope they'll post.

I own the exact same bag that I bought directly from Coach. It looks fine to me, but confirmation from the more experienced experts wouldn't hurt either.

It might just be a difference in how the fur was cut or the purse was stored. I don't see any red flags.

When bags are ordered directly from Coach.com they're usually shipped in those labeled plastic bags. And it's from the Factory Outlet so it won't have a dustbag.

Although the style looks familiar there are several problems. Style number 9870 belongs to a Court Bag - this is not a Court Bag. And at the same time this bag's serial number is supposed to have been stamped, the plant code "L" was being used for one of the Thai plants.

I don't think it's genuine.

I'm curious about this as I didn't know Coach made a navy Sophia (#18620) in the new style...and I'm usually up-to-date on anything Madison related :p Couldn't pull up any drilldown pics either, but it could be so new there are none out there yet. Anyway, here's the listing and seller. TIA!!
