Item: Coach Black Leather Carryall F15513
Listing Number : 180879072004
Seller: bittermint2006
Direct link of ended auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/180879072004?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Comments: There was only a single photo in the auction so it was impossible to verify authenticity. I messaged the seller to ask how the bag was acquired and she informed me she had an invitation from Ebay/Coach for a sale and her feedback does indicate she purchased 2 items in this manner, although neither do provide any item specifics. When she drastically reduced the price I decided to chance it via a credit card payment for protection. The carryall finally arrived today, it came inside a clear Coach bag with carriage emblem on the front and style # label applied to the bag. The tag on the bag is attached with a clear plastic security hanger which is not locked properly and keeps opening up. The odor was quite strong when I pulled the bag from the plastic. I first thought, oh no, is that a plastic odor but it has subsided some and it could very well be the leather dye process. In any case, I have taken lots of photos and hope you can provide your expertise with the photos provided below. Thank You.

Thanks DemRam, and will do. It looks a little shiny too

=DemRam;21924856]I'm fairly certain that's an early, authentic Coach and may be a Bonnie Cashin era bag.

I have a "Suspender Bag" that was made later than that one and mine has quite a few changes compared to that one - including a flap with a turn lock that covers the entire front - AND an all leather strap.

My only concern is the odd looking leather texture on the right side of the flap. I would ask if it's just the photo or if the leather is "crinkled" as it appears.

What you've posted looks ok, but maybe someone who has or has sold a leather Ashley can take a look. There have been a few posts about odors from various newer styles but I think most posters said the odor disappeared once the bag had a chance to air out a bit.

The plastic bag and packing looks exactly right for something bought and shipped from one of the online sales. I don't see any problems there either.

Thank you hyacinth, the bag is gradually getting rid of the odor, boy was it strong! Thanks for your help, I can enjoy the bag now once it airs :)

Hello, helpful ladies! Could you authenticate this keyfob, please?

Item: COACH LEATHER KEY FOB - RED, WHITE AND BLUE
Listing number: 221027709774
Seller: rarewood1946
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-LEATH...E-/221027709774?pt=Wallet&hash=item337647334e
Comments: I have never seen a fob like this one, but I am admittedly new to Coach. It seems like it would be great for July 4th but I'm wary because I don't see the little Coach tag hanging from the ring and the price seems unusually low. Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Ladies, ... Please help me to verify that this bag is not authentic. Thank you!

1.Item: Looks like a Convertible Clutch
Link:http://vintagelovegirl.blogspot.com/2012/05/bean-bag.html
Comments: I bought this bag online, thinking it was a genuine Convertible Clutch. I saw the made in United States on the listing and the serial number below. When I got it I discovered the "Bean Bag" on the creed ... ugh :shucks: I contacted the seller to let her know I wished to return it for a refund and shipping fees. She refuses to believe its fake. So, even though I know it is I'm posting it for verification to show her. Thank you so much for your help!

It's genuine. In fact I just hung exactly the same keyfob on one of the bags I have picked out for Memorial Day weekend. :D

The style number was 7392 and it was called the American Heart Keyfob. It's probably around 8 years old so it's not surprising you haven't seen it before. And I don't think it came with a hangtag, mine doesn't have one.

You're absolutely correct, any Coach bag that says "Bean Bag" in the creed is fake. The only time Coach has ever used a Bean Bag creed was back in about 1990 when they made a leather desk paperweight and a leather keyfob in the shape of small bean bags and filled with beans or birdshot - something heavy, whatever it was. But NO genuine purse has ever had a Bean Bag creed. I've seen that on dozens of different fakes from really obvious counterfeits to a few pretty accurate copies, but without exception they're all fake. Both the Ebay Guide I wrote for Salearea and Daria48's Ebay Guide to fake serial numbers specially mentions those fake Bean Bag creeds:

and
http://reviews.ebay.com/FAKE-SERIAL-NUMBERS-AND-COUNTERFEIT-COACH-BAGS_W0QQugidZ10000000002744619

Let's hope the seller will believe you once she reads my answer. BTW I can't quite read the serial number but I'd bet my Social Security check that it's 0974-534 which is also a known fake serial number and is mentioned in Daria48's list and in my Fake Numbers list here at tPF
.

Here's one of the keyfobs - this is where the counterfeiters copied the creed for the fakes from:

Don't bet your social security check, Hyacinth! :) Spend it on bags like me is more fun!
Do fakers do the coach metal tag too? Do you think this one is real? Thank you!

Thank you so much Hyacinth! I told the seller that I was an active member of tPF and that I would have the bag authenticated and let her know the result ... After I said that she did come back with an email letting me know that I could return it.
I also cannot read the serial number, its there and looks like the right type of font and all numbers but its on really crinkly leather and so very faded, like I've seen on a few other fakes.
The seller still believes (prior to you validating it is fake ) that the bag is authentic - she said, "I believe (as do others) what happened was the bean bag stamp was accidentally used on a series of bags during the 70's. They came out with promotional bean bags during this time as well as bean filled tags. You can find several Coach items with this stamp, bags, organizers, etc.. I do believe this is authentic but you can return it. "

Hyacinth, I'll share what you said so that hopefully when she gets the bag back she does not attempt to resell it (watch for Corkpop on Ebay ).

Thank you so much Hyacinth! I appreciate all your help very much!
