At least 75 percent of Ebay sellers don't post creed photos - does that mean all their Coaches are fakes?

If you're going to imply in a public forum that a seller may be selling fakes, you'd better have solid evidence. Making comments like that with no evidence at all could damage a seller's reputation. Don't EVER accuse or imply that someone's selling fakes without evidence or proof!

Wow - you must be having a rather bad day. I didn't imply anything. I replied to a question asked of me. BTW - don't accuse me of doing something I haven't... On that note - I hope your day gets better... Perhaps a shopping trip is in order... :)

Yes it is, the style number for your Shoulder Purse is 9385, and it's probably from between 1984 and 1987.

Nice find, especially considering what Coach is charging for one of their remade "classics", and the new one doesn't even have the kisslock change pocket! :smile1:

Thanks, Hyacinth! It's such a cool, albeit tiny, bag...now fresh out of a bubble bath and ready for a new life. Thanks again.

Item: COACH Black Leather BLeeCKeR Slouch Hobo Shoulder Bag F13353
Listing number:2037 (?)

Comments:

It looks fine.

I don't have anything specific to think it's not authentic - other than the question - why wouldn't the seller post pics of the creed? Thanks though!
Many sellers just don't understand the importance of having the "right" pictures in their listings.

In answer to your comment, in your AT request, you did imply that (at least) one of the bags from the seller was fake, and I've copied and pasted your quote from post #9429. The bold red is certainly an implication! It may not have been intended as such but that's how it came out.

Is this authenticate? I'm thinking it's not.

Just as many sellers don't understand the importance of showing the necessary pictures to prove authenticity, many members lurk here and don't know that when someone makes a comment that they might not know what they're talking about. When they see a post that implies a listing is illegal, often, they report those listings and unless you've ever listed an authentic item and had the listing reported and removed as counterfeit, you don't know the hurt and frustration felt by the seller who now has to jump through hoops to get the listing reinstated.

(A listing, whether authentic or not, that has been deemed fake and is removed cannot simply be relisted. That seller has to prove authenticity to ebay get the go-ahead to relist.)

A better way to phrase questions is to just ask whether an item is authentic or not.

Thanks for schooling me... I was responding specifically to the one thread.. Regardless, I'm responsible for my posts and my opinions and while I appreciate your previous "advice' - I don't appreciate your condescension. I'll gladly take my "authenticate" queries elsewhere...

Do you know if they came in other colours?

The "classics" currently in stores are complete garbage. I couldn't believe how thin and cheap they felt when I was at the store in Toronto last month. I wanted the lime green satchel one but for that price no way, plus I didn't realize they don't come with cross body straps. I will track down vintage bags forever even if I can't get one in lime green at least the leather is thick and good quality.

Good grief! Here we are helping buyers (and maybe sellers) by offering our authentication services for FREE and on our own FREE time and we're accused of sarcasm, condescension and having a bad day.

I hope and pray you aren't a seller who some day has a listing removed that happens to be an authentic bag. Then again, if it happened, maybe then you'd understand the reason why we react as we do.

Until you've been there, you don't know what it's like and probably never will.

You are certainly welcome to take your authentication requests elsewhere where you might have to pay anywhere from $7 to $25 for the services you get here for free. But if you do that, be sure that the person to whom you're paying your money knows whatever brand she'll be authenticating.

I haven't seen the new Legacy Duffle yet, the colors really caught my eye when Vlad posted the photos but the reactions have been pretty negative. If trhat's what the final version will be like, Coach should be ashamed of themselves.

If you check the first photo I posted in the Reference - FAQs thread a few months ago, the 1981-82 colors, the first photo, are all listed as being available for the Shoulder Purse, except for Sage. Bone was shown instead. There may be one or two other color differences but that should give you something to work from.

Good luck! :D

If they want a classics collection it needs to be classic quality for me to even think of paying that kind of money. I guess if you were someone that didn't know what the older bags felt like it might be okay, but I think I'm too spoiled with all my vintage finds :D

Thanks for the link :)
