Hi Ladies,

I loved this and bought it, but thought I'd better make sure it is all OK. It looks fine, but I know nothing and value your expert opinions. Thanks as always

The red suede got me!

It's genuine. I think quite a few of us were drooling over that one. Congratulations!

Good grief! Here we are helping buyers (and maybe sellers) by offering our authentication services for FREE and on our own FREE time and we're accused of sarcasm, condescension and having a bad day.

I hope and pray you aren't a seller who some day has a listing removed that happens to be an authentic bag. Then again, if it happened, maybe then you'd understand the reason why we react as we do.

Until you've been there, you don't know what it's like and probably never will.

You are certainly welcome to take your authentication requests elsewhere where you might have to pay anywhere from $7 to $25 for the services you get here for free. But if you do that, be sure that the person to whom you're paying your money knows whatever brand she'll be authenticating.

FWIW, I appreciate all the information you give here. I read daily, just to educate myself about the brand. I value the countless hours of research behind the knowledge you share. So, thank you. I am an expert in my own field and I certainly don't spend my free time educating others like you do. Maybe I should, but I find it exhausting. I appreciate those who can, and do.

Comments: Usually, I'm really good with spotting real versus fakes. But, this time I need some help. I am pretty sure that it's real, but I would like to get another person's opinion. Thanks!
I think that bag is authentic is an example of Coach making a mistake on the creed. (IIRC, there was another post several months ago for a similar style and it, too had a creed indicating that it was a leather bag.)

Please wait for other opinions on this one though.

That's a tough one. The creed isn't right for the bag, but we've seen a few of those before with incorrect creeds.

The line was called "Neo" because the bags were made of Neoprene - wetsuit fabric. The fabric sometimes got "bubbly" with wear and the layers separated a bit. The seller is only showing a few areas on this one so you might ask if there's any problems with the fabric.

The creed should specifically mention that it's made of a special fabric, and the X plant code listed in the serial number was used by the Dominican Republic plant. But the bag itself looks ok and there's another indication inside that it's genuine. It may just be a bag made in a new plant (which the DR plant was at the time) that had some mistakes or maybe had to use another plant's creed stamp until their own was ready.

This seller also did me a deal on the black slim kisslock tote you authenticated for me a little while ago. I'll have to hide the package from my husband when it arrives!

Thank you again for your expertise. I hope you do feel appreciated!

How did you manage to learn so much about Coach?

Thanks!

How did I learn? By spending a lot of time comparing bags and photos, and by learning from a great group of Coachies who used to post at the Ebay Shoes & Purses forum (a few still post here at tPF), back when Ebay hadn't yet chased off some of its best and most experienced sellers, and back when it was possible to discuss and compare bags, sellers and fakes without their self-appointed Forum Police reporting every post.

This can't be real, right? The pattern doesn't look like any other Coach I've seen. I don't have any other information about the purse and it is not in my possession, so not much else I can tell you about it.

Actually, I don't think that's a fake Coach. It appears to be a designer inspired (fugly, though) bag. The signature pattern doesn't look like Cs.
Good Evening Ladies,

Would you be so kind as to look at this bag for authentication?

Is it possible this is "new old stock?"

Thanking you for your time and expertise,
Kathryn

The seller is catonahotpc
She's a reputable seller.

Thanks so much for your help! You definitely know a lot more about this purse then I do. I will definitely ask about the fabric. Actually, I went to the Coach outlet store a couple of weeks ago, and I saw a purse for sale with "bubbly" fabric on the strap (it looked like the fabric was separating from the strap), so I can imagine what you are talking about.
