BB Thank You, I usually keep up with this thread at least the last few posts. Tonight I didn't do that, I went right into posting about this tote, without researching more myself.
Thanks again

Earlier today, I commented on the same backtacking stitching in post #9399: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-694619-627.html#post21567135

Even clothing seams have that overstitching in order to keep seams from opening up. There's no problem with it.

No problem. It was an unusual question that isn't asked often and for it to have shown up twice in the same day was even more unusual.

If its unusual it will usually happen to me or follow me! And I am serious, not being, "The glass is half empty" mentality, its just a fact!
Still BB, I feel I should have searched a bit before I posted. If I don't keep this bag, I needed to know if it was indeed authentic. I really just don't feel the excitement for this particular bag. My DH loves it and says it should stay! I dunno. Maybe I just need to look at it more.

In keeping on this subject of the stitching on the Coach creed. I think, my fear, if you want to call it that, is that, if I buy something on one of the bid/shopping sites, the potential for counterfeit always enters my mind. Its a risk we take in purchasing that way, I know. So, if a stitch is "off" which normally I wouldn't think twice about; with say clothing, when It comes to a Coach bag, there is always a little suspicion.

Hi :) I am hoping this can be authenticated. I have owned it about a month or so now.
Coach purple gathered wallet
purchased on ebay
Pictures taken tonight on my counter ( in front of file folders to hide the clutter)
it is leather, not pleather and the gathers look correct but someone on another board said it is fake .

I agree with BB about the second seller. There are at least 7 different IDs for her in my files, between buying, selling and posting IDs at Ebay's forums. She's been on dozens of Blocked Bidder lists for at least 4 or 5 years. Here are just a few, there are older ones under avas*mommy Feedback:
mywifebuyscoach, avas*mommy, ilovetoshopforstuff, susanmarszalek, isitrealorisitfake, 2muchpackingtape, bellybutton63
and probably newer ones we haven't found yet.

Wow, I will be avoiding this one. Thanks Hyacinth!

They're probably okay but the seller doesn't have enough pictures in her listings. At the very least, the carryall listing should show the creed.

ETA: Why are you thinking it's not authentic and which are you referring to?

You won't be happy with my response but it's not because I can authenticate it or not. Other opinions are welcome and I hope someone might have this same wallet to compare.

There are a few red flags that bother me.

1. The gathered wallets and bags are highly faked and well-faked
2. The seller is in Hong Kong
3. The "NWOT" is bothersome because the seller had/had several and all are NWOT
4. Private listings are a red flag because there's no way to check the seller's history. It's a way that counterfeit sellers notoriously hide their history:

In addition to the listing from which you purchased in which the seller had 2 of the wallets, he also sold this, another described as "new without tags":
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...nR2wismV96xTaVdKKRlWc%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

I can't authenticate one way or the other but based on what I see and what I'd do if I were you, I'd return it for a refund.

I don't have anything specific to think it's not authentic - other than the question - why wouldn't the seller post pics of the creed? Thanks though!

Yes it is, the style number for your Shoulder Purse is 9385, and it's probably from between 1984 and 1987.

Nice find, especially considering what Coach is charging for one of their remade "classics", and the new one doesn't even have the kisslock change pocket! :smile1:

At least 75 percent of Ebay sellers don't post creed photos - does that mean all their Coaches are fakes?

If you're going to imply in a public forum that a seller may be selling fakes, you'd better have solid evidence. Making comments like that with no evidence at all could damage a seller's reputation. Don't EVER accuse or imply that someone's selling fakes without evidence or proof!
