1- Looks ok

2- seems to be a genuine Stewardess with a few modifications, like the different construction of the strap and the cutout in the front ID pocket, which makes me think it may have actually been made for UAL to their own specifications way back when.

3- genuine

Thank you Hyacinth :) My Dad worked for UAL as a pilot for 34 years and knowing I love Coach bags, he told me about how strong the Coach bags were that the UAL flight attendants carried. One flight attendant apparently was attacked in her domicile parking lot and she used her Coach Bag to "clobber" him! So, its fun to actually have found one of those old UAL Stewardess Bags!
Thanks again! :smile1:

Did anyone have any clues on this one? Am back on the home PC if better pix or more info is needed, any thoughts appreciated, and thanks again! I have a couple other strays to post, but will wait til this one gets sorted before adding to the auth-load :)

It's a Sheridan Mayfield bag, style # 4224, from around 1993-1994.

Can anyone help with this "vintage" bag?

Comments:

I have never seen these two tone ones before. Want to make sure its legit. Anyone know what year these were made also?

Thanks a bunch!!

It's genuine, 2001 is the year code. I think we authenticated that one before. It's a City Bag Spectator.

And of course, technically it's not vintage yet.

Maybe that's why UAL specified stiffer straps for their bags! :D

Thank you:smile1: and yes I suppose its not lol...If you dont mind me asking another question, Do you know if the leather on these bags is thick like the older classic bags?

Hard to say since I've never owned or even handled one of the City Spectators. I have a City Bag made in China from '04 or '05 and it seems the leather may be just a tiny bit thinner and stiffer than my 1999 version, but that could just be from the older one being broken in and used longer.

Does anybody know which year the xxS-xxxx numbers showed up first? I am assuming as soon as their first China plant started producing?

I've seen S codes on a few bags from the mid-90s with US creeds but most of those seemed to have other authenticity problems. I'm pretty sure the Chinese S plant may have been making a few travel and business bags maybe as early as late 1995 -early 1996.

Handbags with S codes marked as US-made are still questionable, at least for me. Remember, many plant code histories are still speculation until we can confirm that a bag we're 100 percent sure is genuine has those year and country codes.
