And this is part of the reason why we like to know the seller ID. For future listings, buyers might google the seller's name, 732roverparts and would know that she sells fakes.

Coach Hand Bag New!! LOOK! Purse Genuine No Reserve Couture
Item: 320857205912
Seller User Id: 732roverparts
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Hand-...912?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item4ab4946c98

Since the listing just ended yesterday, I'm hoping that you haven't paid yet, and if you have, maybe she hasn't shipped and can issue a full refund.

Contact the seller and refer her here if necessary.

Note that 732roverparts also sold a fake Dooney, which based on her description that the item is "sold as is with no warranty from me" tells me she knows what she's doing.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAP...fxuqEvnaohagxsGfgZXTc%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

Note that her Coach listing has the same BS disclaimer: Item is sold as is with no warranty from me.
I always pay immediately, unfortunately for me. I have sent her two emails with no response, and although she has not shipped the item, I fear she will not refund my money. I will not make this mistake again... Live and learn so they say...
You have been a wealth of knowledge for me, and I appreciate it very much.

Thank you SO much for this, you've probably just saved me loads of hassle!

1- We really need to actually see a photo of the creed stamp and serial number. The stamp itself is one of the things used to determine authenticity. If the seller can add a photo to the listing or send you a photo we can take another look.

2- looks genuine, made in 1997

3- appears to be genuine BUT the seller's Negative and Neutral Feedbacks at Toolhaus.org are a LONG string of "not as described", more worn than usual, undisclosed heavy smoke smells, etc. I personally would NOT consider buying from them.
http://toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?User=findithere810+&Dirn=Received+by&ref=home
Also the serial number in the Description is NOT the same as the serial number in the photos, one is from a 7 year-old purse and the other from an 18 year-old one.

Just an update. The Ebay seller just contacted me and has informed me he will issue me a full refund after I mentioned you and the information you provided. THANK YOU!!! :smile1:

I was thinking the same thing, thanks!
You're welcome.

This is the reason why we request a format for posting and where the search function comes into play. That bag was authenticated here yesterday: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-694619-527.html#post21222935

So very true, and I will never make that mistake again! And thank you so much for your assistance & knowledge. As they say, live and learn. I cannot even get the seller to reply to my emails, and may have to contact Ebay about this item to see if they can do anything about it. Thank you, again.

You do NOT have to eat the loss. If 732roverparts's dumb enough to ship after you've contacted her, told her that the bag is fake and you don't want her to send it, she deserves the ding to her account after you receive it, file and escalate a dispute.

And depending on her response, you can decide on the feedback you'll leave. (Wait on that until the transaction is over. You have plenty of time.)

ETA: Darn! I see that the listing has now been removed. Unfortunately, you can't leave feedback. But do not assume and accept that you've lost the money. You will get it back.

Looks good.

Please help me authenticate these gathered clutches/wristlets. If possible, could you please also tell my why some sellers use private listings, do I need to be cautious when I see private listing? Thanks a lot!

Please remember in the future to check Post #1 in this thread for the format in which we ask requests to be posted. Thanks!

1- seems ok

2- seems ok but I don't know why " lil* pocahontas " uses Private listings either. Normally many of us avoid those since if there is a problem with the seller there's no way to warn other buyers.

But considering the rash of problem buyers Ebay has nurtured since they took away a seller's ability to leave Negative FB for a buyer, maybe some are doing it out of self-defense.

http://myworld.ebay.com/lil*pocahontas/?_trksid=p4340.l25593- not enough photos, sorry.

And like wallets, wristlets are hard to authenticate because details are smaller and harder to see and because they don't have creed patches, so just use care and common sense when bidding and use Paypal or a credit, NOT debit, card whenever possible.

Good. But I wonder if the refund is because you told him that it's fake or because ebay removed the listing and dinged his account.

In any case, I'm glad he will refund. (Let us know if he doesn't follow through.)

Thanks a lot. I will remember about the format when I post next time.

Hi,

Are these two bags genuine please:

Item: coach handbag
Listing number:120866294473
Seller: georgeandfloyd
Link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120866294473?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Comments:

Item: Vintage Brown Coach Bag.
Listing number:110831247902
Seller: mariatanton
Link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110831247902?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Comments: The style number doesn't seem to tally.

Thanks in advance x

1- genuine Coach Sheridan Monticello Bag from 1994

2- No, the number won't tally because that one was made before style numbers became part of the serial number, don't depend on numbers in older and vintage bags to tell you what it's supposed to be:
http://search.reviews.ebay.com/members/salearea_W0QQcpnameZmembersQQprZsaleareaQQuqtZg

I can't even be certain what style it is and the seller didn't even bother to include measurements but it's probably genuine and looks like a Stewardess Bag from the late 1970s thru late 1980s. If you're the high bidder you can post more photos here when you receive the bag.

Thank you for the additional information. Here is a photo of my bag. I did expect that store employees would be knowledgeable resources. I think I will send them my bag for refurbishing and see what they say. Thanks again.

Unfortunately you've listened to information from a source that's totally unqualified to authenticate older Coaches.

Coach store employees have NO training in analyzing creed stamps or serial numbers and NO records of what was and was not available on Coaches made in a certain year or with a certain creed. Your bag even when revealed as Black still has one unexplained problem that makes me question its authenticity, and that is the simple fact that nickel or silver/colored hardware on any color briefcase including Black was not shown as an option in 1995. According to their own catalogs silver hardware didn't come into use UNTIL Fall 1997. Just because a bag has a stamped serial number DOESN'T MEAN IT'S GENUINE, 90 percent of the fake Coaches being sold on Ebay have what appear to be valid serial numbers. Any professional counterfeiter with more than three brain cells can copy a valid serial number.

If you search this forum for instances of Coach employees badly mis-identifying items as real or as fake you'll find that we've discovered that they're probably wrong in about 90 percent of the posted cases. I don't understand why you don't want to post photos of your bag, but since you say you'll keep it and use it yourself, I hope you hold to your word. If you try to sell it there's a possibility you'd be selling a counterfeit item.

I am having a problem resizing my photos small enough to attach.

Re the 'other' items - at the store they gave me leather and metal hangtags, and a dust cover, and a new black leather strap. So even through the other expert here says store employees may not really know what they are talking about, they did treat me like someone with a real Coach product.

Code:
You should be able to pull it down enough to get a photo of the creed. I need to see that to authenticate. Can you add some more photos of the back, sides and interior?

Do you have the strap? That is very important for this bag. Most buyers want the strap. Without the strap you may not get as much.

It is a Coach Organizer Briefcase.

If you list it after I can see the rest of the photos, make sure you say whether it is smokefree or not.

Put the hardware against a sheet of paper, try looking at it outside. It is probably brass.
