Hello Authenticators- I just received this Coach Alligator tote from this auction:

and wanted to get verification whether it's authentic. Also, Am I reading this creed correctly- Is this from 1991?
Finally the auction didn't show a hangtag, but the seller put this one instead the bag when it was shipped. I'm just curious if anyone is familiar w/ this bag, what hangtag (if at all) came with this bag originally as I'm guessing this isn't the original? Excuse the exotic kitty in the background shot....she was really cozying up to this bag and I couldn't get her out of the shot. TIA!

Thanks for the help. I accidentally stumbled to this forum while googling something related to coach....so I'm afraid I have a bunch of purchases before I even knew what to look out for....

I'm so happy that I lucked out and all my purchases are ok. :D

It's authentic. It's a hamptons (weekend?) tote.

The label as you can see states in attached pictures says was made in China and the number is F04U-9363.

And this is part of the reason why we like to know the seller ID. For future listings, buyers might google the seller's name, 732roverparts and would know that she sells fakes.

Since the listing just ended yesterday, I'm hoping that you haven't paid yet, and if you have, maybe she hasn't shipped and can issue a full refund.

Contact the seller and refer her here if necessary.

Note that 732roverparts also sold a fake Dooney, which based on her description that the item is "sold as is with no warranty from me" tells me she knows what she's doing.

The bag is authentic from 2001.

I don't know what the original hangtag was (if any) but would guess it would have been the same color and leather as the bag.

The hangtag she sent looks authentic but I am 99.9% sure it's not from this bag.

According to the creed, at the time the bag was made, there were just 100 made and yours was the 25th in order.

The bag was made in 2001. Style 8150 is the Hamptons Alligator Small Tote, if the measurements are approximately 10 x 10 x 4.

I've only seen one in person and don't recall what the hangtag looked like. (I do have a Coach Alligator Clutch that has an all metal hangtag).

Original price of the Hamptons Alligator Small Tote was $3,500.

As copied in your post, there are certain pictures of various parts of the items that are needed in order to authenticate.

You can either use the "manage attachments" link to attach pictures or you can upload them to a photo-hosting site such as photobucket and post the IMG links.

I thought 2001 sounded more logical , but didn't see "01" so wrongly assumed 1991.

I just measured the bag, and it IS 10x10x 4, so glad to get a name to go with it!

Been Burned- I just did a search online and there was a similar tote (only larger) posted by a blogger who won it at a silent auction and hers shows the hangtag which is the same color(and in Alligator) as the bag (pic attached) , so guessing this was probably the case with this bag as well.....Too bad the original to this one went missing (as well as the cool looking dustbag that it appears to have originally come with (based on the bloggers pic of hers), Oh well, she's missing a few parts, but I still love her!

Gorgeous bag! You should try taking it to the local Coach boutique and ask if they have an extra hangtag that would look good on it. They probably won't have genuine alligator but they may have another nice option.

I recently brought a bag to the boutique because I had lost the hangtag which was extra large and shiny silver and they pulled out a big box of hangtags and found a nice replacement for me. It was free and the SA was really nice about it. But if you do go to the boutique, don't mention ebay - they hate ebay! Say that you received the bag from a relative or something. Good luck!

BTW, the hangtag that came with your bag is identical to the one on my Wool and Lamb Nappa Girlie Hobo 8161 that is also from 2001, see link below:
