Oooo, pretty! It's a Checkbook Wallet from the Bridle line from around 1999, probably made in Italy, calfskin and pigskin combination, and the color was Mahogany.

Thank you! I was hoping it was Italian.

They made the Abbie Zip in both Aqua and Periwinkle, at least for Spring and Summer. There's a Powder Blue they called Glacier shown as a Fall color, but it's possible they brought back a few of the Spring colors toward the end of the year as a kind of Resort line - Coach did do a special Resort line that usually didn't show up in the mainland stores, and once in a great while they turn up. I tend to forget about them because they're scarce and I don't think Coach bothers with a separate line nowadays, they have enough variety in the full line to cover all situations. They sometimes did (and still do) make special colors for certain retailers too.

I don't see any problems with it.

Oh, I am so relieved! Thanks. I think it is probably the aqua. The quality is so good that I was worried it was one of those times when you couldn't tell the fake from the real.

The handbag appears to be okay but the wallet is impossible to authenticate based on the partial pictures in the listing. We need to see full pictures of the front, back, inside, imprints and ID pocket of the wallet. Two 1/2 pics (and blurry ones at that) are useless.
You'll be asked for a picture of the creed. If the seller copied the serial number properly, it's not looking good.

The swingpack looks okay but the wallet doesn't have enough clear closeup pictures. It's a very highly faked and well-faked style and generally, we recommend caution when purchasing wallets.

AAAARRGGH.

Please see my "Bonnie Cashin Keyword Spamming" post from yesterday.
http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-694619-504.html#post21142350

Like the bag in that post, this one has no connection at all to Bonnie Cashin and wasn't even designed until at least 15 years after she'd left Coach. The bag has a TURNlock, not a Kisslock, just like most Coach bags. And this statement by the seller is just plain BALONEY:
"Bonnie Cashin has been designing Coach bags since 1941 and in 2009 Coach revived many of her original styles such as the iconic kisslock, which you see in this bag... Here's your chance to own a classic, collectible, and original piece by Bonnie Cashin."
LIES AND NONSENSE.
COACH hasn't even been designing bags since 1941, only since about 1960. Cashin joined them in the 1960s and left Coach permanently in 1974.

I REALLY wish sellers would get their facts straight, if you're looking for a Bonnie Cashin style, this isn't one. It seems to be genuine but it's not even Vintage since Vintage is defined as 20 years old or more and this bag was made in 2003. I personally wouldn't buy from a seller who's so completely wrong about what she claims are facts especially about the Cashin "connection" but that's just my personal feelings, you're free to buy from whomever you prefer.

It's just that my level of aggravation about the misuse of Bonnie Cashin's name has reached a new high in the last few days, and I don't mean to take it out on potential buyers - it's the SELLERS who deserve a whack upside the head with a baseball bat.

Accurate information about Bonnie Cashin can be found here, if you're curious:

Thanks for sharing the Bonnie Cashin website. The time line was very interesting I just wish the pictures were larger.

The "Dakota" and the "Sheridan" bags, made in Italy, were notorious for the absence of serial numbers. That bag looks just fine to me.

The letter in the style number on the yellow bag is a "Z" and the style number, G7Z-4157, looks fine for a 1997 Soho Buckle bag made in the Dominican Republic.

Wait for other responses!

I believe she's referring to the "N" in No and is asking whether the serif is longer than it should be.

Thank you all so much. I am glad I found this very interesting site with so many knowledgable members. After reading your replies to me, and other posts, I decided to take the case to the local Coach store. Yea, it definitely is a Coach case. The sales associate cleaned and moisturized a portion of the bag using the Coach brand products made for their leather. We found (to my surprise) the case actually is black and yes, with nickel fasteners. She confirmed it was made in 1995, based on the creed embossing. She gave me (no charge) a black strap and new leather and silver hang tags on chains. I was impressed! I bought the products she recommended to clean and restore the case. She guesses the bag is worth $500+ because it has minimal wear and should be beautiful after 4-5 cycles of intense moisturizing. This is actually my second Coach bag: I have a small, 5x8" navy leather shoulder bag with the same kind of fastener, but never understood what the interior embossing meant. Thanks again -:smile1:

I posted this reply on its own instead of as a response, sorry. Thank you for your help. The store showed me bag is black, creed indicates 1995, fasteners are nickel, and with a few cycles of their moisturized the bag should last forever. They generously gave me new leather and silver hang tags AND a strap. Wow, what great customer service! :smile1:

You should be able to pull it down enough to get a photo of the creed. I need to see that to authenticate. Can you add some more photos of the back, sides and interior?

Do you have the strap? That is very important for this bag. Most buyers want the strap. Without the strap you may not get as much.

It is a Coach Organizer Briefcase.

If you list it after I can see the rest of the photos, make sure you say whether it is smokefree or not.

Put the hardware against a sheet of paper, try looking at it outside. It is probably brass.
