I agree sellers are not helping my confusion and I get the whole Prius thing :) OK- but the 1st one is still Legacy (since it has striped lining) correct? I see lots of "Legacy" in titles & descriptions and although they are are similar styles, not all have the Legacy lining (may have sig lining) - what gives with that? And I have seen with the Legacy stripe on the outside as well. Is there somewhere to read up more on the legacy line that you could refer me to? I know not all sellers will describe the same, but since I am just new to following Legacy and there is no info on their website. I asked here since I know YOU know what's what! :D I am looking for Whiskey which I know some are calling brown, cognac, whiskey or whatever. I have learned to search with so many terms to make sure I have all bases covered and I don't miss out on anything good :yahoo:

EDIT: Is it only considered ANNIVERSARY if it has the striped lining?

thanks- i did notice the strap! but like Hyacinth said, sellers list however & for a newbie like me it's hard to know what's what and in my search I have seen it listed so many ways! I appreciate both of your input!

Comments: I thought Patricia's Legacy had a flap, while this doesn't.. does that mean it's Janice's legacy? But the creed does show 9951, which I believe is Patricia's Legacy.. Am I just confused, and it's authentic?

In the comments area it says "FLAWS:Flap was cut off (see pictures). Scuff marks. Minor ink stains." Does that mean it COULD be authentic, but was... butchered?:wtf: I can't imagine how that would've ended up looking good..

Who would do that to a purse??? I can't believe it! That would leave the back hidden pocket that's under the flap wide open and would look like ****e. I wouldn't give them forty CENTS for it, much less forty dollars.

Again, don't ever base a buying decision on what name or half-dozen names a seller gives to a bag or uses in the listing.

Just FYI - this is an authenticity thread, not an "ID this style" thread. The main Coach forum's main thread will have more posts on Legacy bags - there's no single source of information though.

There have been at least 3 or 4 groups of styles that have used Legacy in the name, going back to the mid to late 1990s. Only one or two lines have had the Legacy lining that came out in 2006 for Coach's 65th anniversary. And no, not all stripe linings are anniversary bags, and not all stripe linings are genuine. Don't look for bags by name, use the style numbers. As I said before, a lot of sellers have no clue what the correct names of their bags are.

The Whiskey color was used mainly in late 2006 and 2007. Several other colors have also mistakenly or deliberatly been mis-identified as Whiskey by their sellers.

And be sure to have ANY bag you're thinking of buying authenticated here, there are a huge number of fake Coaches for sale.

I use an inexpensive fabric glue that I bought at Joann's Fabrics - it says that it will work on leather on the package. I use a sturdy toothpick to spread the glue onto one half of the hangtag and then I stick both parts together, being careful to line up the edges as close as possible.

I usually stick the tags between the pages of the dictionary and let the glue dry overnight, but with a red colored tag I would be worried about getting print ink on the tag. I would probably put it in a small baggie or something before putting it in the dictionary. If a little glue leaks out around the edges, it is easy to roll it off with your fingernail after it dries. Comments: I've seen horseshoe-shaped soho buckles, oblong bleecker buckles, hamptons buckles and others but I've never seen a round buckle on any Coach wallet. Also, the colors of the wallet are odd, with white leather exterior, yellow leather interior and green lining.

Is this wallet authentic? TIA.

Know how when you're looking at something, and you think it's wrong, and it just doesn't seem to make sense... then all of a sudden, BAM! It was pretty jaw-dropping for me, and I could not believe it. Thank you for validating that... I can't believe they're asking for that much too! Good lords..
