Hi there, I have some items to I'd love to have authenticated. Thanks so much in advance.

Item Name (if you know it): vintage (?) Black Legacy Zip (curious if these would be worth trying to salvage as a project)

The Legacy Zip looks genuine but it seems too far gone for a rehab - wait for more opinions.

If the smaller tan bag doesn't have a creed stamp and serial number, I need to know the measurements. Thanks!

Can anyone ID this bag? I know it's a bit too late to be asking. I have wanted an older coach bag especially in red. I wonder why the hangtag looks like it's separating? I jumped on this too quick because I saw two bullseyes in the bag and automatically assumed it was legit. Stupid I know.

Is there any serial number under the creed stamp? If a closer picture isn't possible, I need to know the measurements, what the last line of the creed says, and the serial number.

Just FYI, I don't see any signs so far that it's fake, pending the creed information I asked for. Older hangtags were two pieces and often came apart over time.

As long as the bags are not seriously damaged - rips, tears, piping worn through, massive stains , or mildew - they can probably be salvaged.

It looks like the stitching on the inside pocket of the legacy zip is unraveling but a cobbler could repair that easily (and probably cheaply. )

I have rehabbed some bags that looked as bad as that (or worse!) and they come out looking a whole lot better. Not pristine but I feel very comfortable wearing them.

Post links to your pics in the Rehab and Rescue thread to get advice from TPF rehabbers; there have been quite a few Legacy Zip rehab projects:

Good luck!

I really would need to see a clear photo of the creed stamp and serial number to be sure it was authentic, but that can be hard with small bags especially black ones. But the style and details make me believe it's a Riding Bag Small (or Small Riding Bag if you prefer) style number 9745. All I can say about the date is that it was made some time between the late 1970s and 1988.

You're right - it is hard to get a pic. Here are my attempts.

I just liked the look of it; I didn't know it was an antique! This is the first Coach bag for me. The hang tag has separated into a front and back piece. What kind of glue do you suggest for putting it back together? And, since you already know I'm a newbie, what is the proper thing to do with the tag - keep it attached and visible or not?

This is a great resource. Thank you very much for your help.

Please help me authenticate this bag. I purchased it today for $35 at a Plato's Closet. It has the tags attached, has dust bag and a care card - but we all know that means nothing!

According to the tags:
13643 B4/LL
b4/Lilac
(barcode) 8 84830 76452 9
ALI PIECED HOBO
9H00052392 8326

has the following prices marked in red 249.99 (crossed out) and then 199.99

inside tag says: No: B0993-13643

Attached are images of the bag. I don't know much about Coach and do know there are tons of fakes out there. I hope I didn't lose $35 on a fake...help!

See the post below, I am sorry my laptop somehow did a double posting when I was trying to "preview" my listing before I submitted it!

OMG!!! That is awesome! I was getting worried about it! I have one more pic that I forgot to add - the little stamped logo on the side! It's in the album now! :)

You have made my day!! :) I almost didn't buy it. I went back later to see if it was priced yet! Yay! Glad I did!! :)

You should see the Leather one I found at the same Plato's Closet! It's gorgeous but have no idea what the name of it is! I will post pics for help with that one! I only paid $25 for the leather one!

Definitely genuine.

If you have any craft stores nearby, check and see if they have any kind of leather adhesive. But I've never bothered to reglue any separated hangtags and have just left them as they were found. I keep mine on the bags.

Thanks a million Hyacinth. I am waiting for the seller to provide me this info. I could barely read the creed on this bag with my glasses. I purchased this with minutes on left on the clock. I figured if it wasn't legit I would most definitely be getting a refund. Thanks for the info on the hangtag. That part worried me.
