And after I said I need to slow down acquisition, I spot this... :graucho:

Item: Authentic COACH Beige Bone Leather Purse Handbag USA 0565-115 Small Bag
Listing number: 110801169926
Seller: shes*got*purse*sonality
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/110801169926

Dare I hope?

The "fair to good condition" and "sold as-is" means you need to expect problems - there are a lot of pen marks inside that bag. (I can't for the life of me understand why someone buys an expensive purse and then won't spend a few more dollars for a waterproof and INK-proof accessory bag to carry pens and/or makeup in!)

Probably a Compartment Bag style 9850.

It did have an ungodly amount of pen marks inside. I guess I was hoping that the outside would be better (it seemed to be the case in the pictures), but now that I think about it, attempting to get rid of the ink marks might cause them to bleed through. Thank you again!

I think so too. And the photos are a bit too badly lit to be sure you're even seeing all the damage. I don't even think there was an outside pic of the bottom of the bag - not a good sign. White leather is touchy enough when well cared-for. When someone's as obviously careless as the previous owner, there's no telling what else she may have done to that poor bag.

Probably ok but the seller says she can't get a photo of the creed stamp so I can't be 100 percent sure.

BTW, the seller calls this a Convertible Clutch, which it's NOT. The bag DemRam commented on on post 5320 is a Convertible Clutch. This one is probably a Basic Bag.

Yes, it's a basic bag. I already own one. Maybe I will take my chances and post a picture of the creed when I get the bag...

Does this bag look ok? Looked and felt good to me, but one never knows when one hasn't had a lot of experience with them..

There seem to be several other listings for the same item so I wonder if it might have been a promotional item with a certain amount of money spent on a purchase.

Sorry, but I don't know.

Sorry I reposted in the link before I saw this...I am returning...It is CHEAP PLASTIC with Coach.com web address on it.... does not feel right. The seller is refunding "EVERYTHING" even the return postage..... seems odd... Glad to get my money back IF IT DO!!! But the way the item came in a plastic bag from a company .........the advertizing on there packaging said "CREATE YOUR ITEM" ...makes me wonder ....U can create or recreate ANYTHING!!!

As I said, it's possible it's a promotional item but in the past, promo items I've received were nice quality items.

Coach does make (or did make) several leather and leather/fabric mousepads. There are a few on ebay and bonz.

THANKS ...I have Coach mouse pads...this is "see through plastic" (NOT LEATHER) that is very bendable. The fact it came in an OFF LABEL BAG REALLY BOTHERS ME.......It is going back. Thanks BEEN BURNED. I don't trust this and besides the quality is "TERRIBLE" for the money. I have got a LOT better at the Outlet for a LOT less. Happy Holidays.

I think the first letter of the serial number is a "J" and that it's a genuine Multi Zip bag from 1995.
