My first coach purchase (a mistake on several levels):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160616558758&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

This isn't real is it?
First off, seller wrote bag height as 14 inches, it's 7 inches, she must have measured the strap. She refunded 1/2 my payment when I wrote to her about it. Second, the dustbag is the wrong color and a flimsy, cheap material. Third, the lining has the printed logo, and the exterior has the logo also. Fourth, inside pocket zipper broke right away-I realize it's a used bag, but it just went right off the track.

A learning experience for me, I'm just happy it wasn't a very expensive one.
Based on the picture in the listing, I wasn't certain that the BAG you bought from skuh was fake. (The dustbag is definitely fake.)

But based on your description of the lining, it certainly sounds as though it's fake. But before advising you to file a dispute, I'd like to request a picture of the interior of the bag and a photo of the creed.

If the bag is deemed fake, we can advise you on how to file a dispute - which you should do. It's only been 2 weeks since your purchase and you have 45 days in which to dispute.

Thanks for all your help!

Since I haven't paid for the blue one-the one with the wrong creed numbers, should I contact the seller to cancel the transaction or contact ebay or what?

Yikes, I am so new to all this about Coach, I'm thinking I'd be better off going to the outlet which isn't too far from me, I need to get my husband to drive me.
Tell the seller that you won't be completing the transaction because you've learned the bag is fake. Let her know it's illegal to sell fakes.

You might want to refer her here since she has already listed and sold the same fake twice.

Let us know if the bag gets relisted a third time.

I reported it.

I looked over her completed listings and couldn't find this bag listed before. I was the one who purchased it on 7/31.

I have 2 ebay ID's one for buying and one for selling. For this bag I used my selling ID and bidded from my phone, I cannot access my buying ID from my cell. With the scribble one I bidded from home with my buying ID.

Sorry about the confusion.

Hello all!

I'm new here & new to buying coach purses and am wondering about this bag:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190558697526&ssPageName=ADME:L:COSI:US:1123

The serial number concerns me, there isn't a "No." before the numbers and only numbers, no letters which are 10810 which I think is the style number. This would be my second coach purchase, I haven't paid for it yet now that I've learned a bit and am wondering if it's real or not.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome. For future, requests, please refer to post #1 on page one for the suggestion posting format. It makes it easier to search for sellers and listings.

I wouldn't recommend seller emymouse.

This listing is fake. Please report. In fact, the seller already sold that bag once. I wonder if the buyer learned it was fake and returned it:

The seller also has a questionable "Coach" watch with a lack of pictures but bothersome details.

Sorry. I didn't realize I was looking at the same listing you won.

However, in addition to the fake you won and the questionable Coach watch, that seller also sold this fake:

Please authenticate - it seems so to me, but I know nothing when it comes to vintage or classics. Thanks to everyone that offers their expertise on this thread!

I can't read the creed but it looks like it could be an authentic "Regina" bag from 1996.

I'm just wondering what caused that dark spot on the right front side?

I asked the seller about the spotting - this was her response:

Yes, its like spotting, well actually it looks lighter now since at the time of the picture I didn't know better and read online that it is good to clean leather with olive oil and I left it the way it is in the picture but now the darker section has faded back to its original color. Thanks for your interest.

uggggg... I'm thinking olive oil? Seller just seems so openly honest - and the listing does say "Mint" condition. Good feedback too.
Thanks for your response!

Arrrggh! There's a post about a seller/buyer who used olive oil on her bag and it isn't a good one!

OMG! The LAST thing you ever want to put on any kind of leather is olive oil! Olive oil is a food product and will turn RANCID.

Someone posted in one of these forums a while back about doing the same dumb thing - wonder if it's the same seller? We followed her listings for a while and while she was weeping and moaning here about how awful her bag looked, and asking for advice and sympathy, she didn't mention ANYTHING about that in her listing - in fact when someone contacted her she denied it was the same bag, after posting pictures of that mess here for everyone to see.

Stay FAR away from that seller whether it's the same one or not. And always ask what products have been used to clean or "condition" a bag.

Hi, this is my first time on these forums.

A friend of mine asked me to help figure out if her new bag is authentic. I have no idea why, as I am a guy, and know nothing about bags. Anyways, a google search turned up this forum, so I thought I'd ask here. I took pictures of the bag in general, and any place with letters/numbers that I could find.

Unfortunately your photos are too small to see any details. Can you enlarge them to a bit under 195 KB and then re-post them using the "manage attachments" link? We need photos of both sides of the dog-leash clip on the end of the strap, and if you could stuff the bag with a towel or t-shirt or something to show the actual shape and take photos of all 4 sides, it would help. And can you give us some basic measurements of the bag, height, width and front-to-back?

Where did she buy the bag? If she bought it on Ebay, an auction number would be a big help.

The Scribble is definitely fake, especially if the serial number given in the listing is accurate. The dog-leash clip on the strap is too small, the silver snap on the pocket is in the wrong position, and the year code in the serial number is from 2 years before the Scribbles were even made. Also Scribbles should never have Logo or C-pattern linings, and the strap fabric should be a turquoise and white combination. I'm posting a photo of the real one at the bottom of this post, the differences should be apparent when you compare Coach's photo to your bag. Click on the photo to enlarge it.

Along with contacting the seller, use the Resolution Center link on the left side of your main Ebay page to file a SNAD (Significantly Not As Described) claim immediately and ask for the full amount including shipping to be refunded to you.

And please, ask here before you bid on any more Coach or other designer handbags.

I have to say I have the best boyfriend ever...he went to the Goodwill on lunch and came home with this beauty! I have trained him so well on how to spot them. It has a few marks on it but I hope I can work them out! Just making sure it's authentic!
The dimensions are 10.5"W, 8.5"H, 3.5"D! It has an inside zipper pocket, a open pocket under the flap, and an outside pocket.
TIA!
