This looks just like my Carlyle, but made before 1994?

Good luck! You gotta love some of these clueless sellers and their "Coach purse" listings... :p

My first coach purchase (a mistake on several levels):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160616558758&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

This isn't real is it?
First off, seller wrote bag height as 14 inches, it's 7 inches, she must have measured the strap. She refunded 1/2 my payment when I wrote to her about it. Second, the dustbag is the wrong color and a flimsy, cheap material. Third, the lining has the printed logo, and the exterior has the logo also. Fourth, inside pocket zipper broke right away-I realize it's a used bag, but it just went right off the track.

A learning experience for me, I'm just happy it wasn't a very expensive one.

It's best to use the format given in the first post when asking for something to be authenticated.

You should check through some past posts - Hyacinth (Sorry if it was someone else) talked quite a bit about the scribble bags.

When deciding on whether to buy a bag or not, you should get pictures of the inside and creed (like with the second bag you posted about). This will make it easier for the ladies here to identify.

I'm also quite new to buying Coach, and the experts here have been a great help!

Hello all!

I'm new here & new to buying coach purses and am wondering about this bag:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190558697526&ssPageName=ADME:L:COSI:US:1123

The serial number concerns me, there isn't a "No." before the numbers and only numbers, no letters which are 10810 which I think is the style number. This would be my second coach purchase, I haven't paid for it yet now that I've learned a bit and am wondering if it's real or not.

Thanks in advance.

It's fake.

It's a fake. The creed statement is all wrong. Jane verified.

From the auction: "It comes with the dirt bag." lol!

ROFL Evidently the seller doesn't know Coach...

It's been shown to me how many people don't realize what they have. Been spending hours on ebay for the last few days looking at bucket bags, but not many have turned up because people list them simply as Coach handbags. It takes hours to sift through everything as a result.

Thanks for all your help!

Since I haven't paid for the blue one-the one with the wrong creed numbers, should I contact the seller to cancel the transaction or contact ebay or what?

Yikes, I am so new to all this about Coach, I'm thinking I'd be better off going to the outlet which isn't too far from me, I need to get my husband to drive me.

Me, too! I've been looking at Juicy Couture and like the Daydreamer ones, it's amazing how many don't put that in the title. Makes searching much longer. Plus I'm also suspicious (now) of the ones who title their auctions as "Coach Handbag' without any other info.

You don't necessarily have to be suspicious, that's why this forum is great - you can post bags for authentication and there's another thread where you can get items identified. It's likely that the people selling just don't know the name of the style/type of bag. It could be for a variety of reasons - many times people randomly find Coach at a thrift store, yard sale, estate sale or it gets given to them. You see a lack of identification with a lot of bags pre-1999. The contemporary bags are easy to ID since many of the styles are still sold on the Coach website.

I've been spending nearly every day for the last six weeks or so doing research and posting links for authentication. It's been an eye-opening experience. I've also spent time reading through the website and visiting multiple Coach outlets. Even with all that I'm nowhere near close to being an expert. It takes a lot of time, but it's also fun.

Hi, this is my first time on these forums.

A friend of mine asked me to help figure out if her new bag is authentic. I have no idea why, as I am a guy, and know nothing about bags. Anyways, a google search turned up this forum, so I thought I'd ask here. I took pictures of the bag in general, and any place with letters/numbers that I could find.

Welcome. For future, requests, please refer to post #1 on page one for the suggestion posting format. It makes it easier to search for sellers and listings.

I wouldn't recommend seller emymouse.

This listing is fake. Please report. In fact, the seller already sold that bag once. I wonder if the buyer learned it was fake and returned it:

The seller also has a questionable "Coach" watch with a lack of pictures but bothersome details.
