so
i notified a seller that I saw the same item sold the day before by someone else (that someone else had stolen the photos already... and... the person I had notified said she took the photos from someone elses auction too...
Too confusing! the same bag being sold by 3 people!

Sometimes you have to put on your Sherlock Holmes detective gear in order to figure out who the actual owner of the picture is and which ones are copycats.

Hello ladies!

I'm hoping you can help me with this little bag:

photo

I actually vaguely remember looking at something similar in the store a while ago, so I know those 'mini totes' do exist, but the pattern on the front is not symmetrical - which is a dead give away with large bags. Seller told me it's authentic, so I am wondering if it could be? Has anyone seen these in person?

Thank you!

You refer to the "seller." Is there a listing where this bag is posted.

The picture is a bit small and blurry and I can't really authenticate based on one picture but so far, there aren't any red flags.

If there's a listing, please post a link. (See post #1 for the suggested posting format.)

We need to see a closeup of the creed if there is one, the inside, the back of the bag and clearer picture of the front, including the pockets and turnlock.

We can't authenticate ANYTHING without the correct pictures. Please read post one of this thread and follow the format.

It's a craigslist ad and that's the clearest of the photos posted. Really, all I hope to find out if it's possible for an authentic coach bag to have pattern not accurately lined up/symmetrical.

Actually found a larger list4all.com/www11/shaylalala/4-3.jpg?rnd=1323220400.

Thank you again!
In answer to your question, yes, it's possible that it's authentic. As I said, it appears to have no red flags but I really can't say that it's authentic based on the pictures in the CL ad.

As an example of a similar (NOT SAME) style, #6232 has similarly non-symmetrical patterns on the pockets.

Note that in the listings below, the one with the purple background is fake. The other 2 are authentic:

Oh I see, thank you so much! I am so used to looking at the symmetry of the pattern first. =)

I'm not familiar with it or any of the really vintage bags, and I've never seen that stamped zipper pull. Maybe someone else can take a look.

I've never seen a coach stamp like that either.
Thanks. Anyone else knowq about coach stapes hardware?

Just because I haven't seen it doesn't make it fake!:D BUT I've seen and handled many vintage Coach bags over the years, and I've never seen one with that zipper pull either.

I am curious what the seller means by the following: Brand: Coach, the stamp on the inside has worn down and is barely visible but there.

Does she mean the word "Coach" is stamped into the leather or does she mean it actually has the creed that is worn down. I might be tempted to ask exactly what is stamped inside and where the stamp is.

:smile1:

The fifth one down looks like the pattern may be off center on both front and back, and on at least one side it even looks a bit lopsided. She also has another fake Coach and I'm not inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt on the first one - please report this one too, misaligned Cs, wrong colors in the stripe, and fake Logo lining:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Handbag-/330654714823?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item4cfc8e8bc7

Also a fake vintage Coach in her FB with an always-fake serial number that's on The List, invalid style number and year combo, style # is for a Mercer Tote
http://www.ebay.com/itm/330620407646

A LARGE lot of mostly fake bags and wallets:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/330620084707

Please report these too if you can.

BB, have you had a chance to check her Dooneys?
http://www.ebay.com/sch/robynk46/m...._trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649&_trksid=p4340.l2562

I wouldn't recommend buying from robynk46

The sixth bag looks fake as well, the creed cutting & sewing is bad, there's an entire line of run-on words, and I don't remember Coach using any "M" codes at the end of the numbers. And it looks like "detail" is missing an "i".

(The first one, the pink Backpack, looks ok)

Thank you Hyacinth!

Oh I see, thank you so much! I am so used to looking at the symmetry of the pattern first. =)

The pattern IS symetrical - it's the pattern on the body of the bag that's important, not the pockets.

Here are some of Coach's very own website photos of bags with double front pockets including style 1751 and other different styles and fabrics but all C patterns. Note that the only symetrical C pattern is on the main part of the bag, Coach didn't try to match up the pockets. And note that on the third and fifth bags, the two versions of the Pastel Scribble Baby Bag style 6075, they weren't too careful about matching the body of the bag either.

The Symetrical C's "rule" is a guideline, not an infallible rule, there are plenty of exceptions.

AMEN !!! :D

Yep, and it wouldn't have been hard for any faker to just add a small Coach stamp into the leather. Maybe we can't say for sure that it's fake, but it's definitely questionable. And it's not a style that I remember seeing before either.

Authentic? It looks good to me, but my only concern was that I found that a different item from this seller, a coach key chain FOB with brass hang tag, was deemed probably fake on another site that I can't seem to link to from here. When I try to include it, it just shows up as asterisks.
