The fifth one down looks like the pattern may be off center on both front and back, and on at least one side it even looks a bit lopsided. She also has another fake Coach and I'm not inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt on the first one - please report this one too, misaligned Cs, wrong colors in the stripe, and fake Logo lining:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Handbag-/330654714823?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item4cfc8e8bc7

Also a fake vintage Coach in her FB with an always-fake serial number that's on The List, invalid style number and year combo, style # is for a Mercer Tote

A LARGE lot of mostly fake bags and wallets:

BB, have you had a chance to check her Dooneys?

I wouldn't recommend buying from robynk46

The sixth bag looks fake as well, the creed cutting & sewing is bad, there's an entire line of run-on words, and I don't remember Coach using any "M" codes at the end of the numbers. And it looks like "detail" is missing an "i".

(The first one, the pink Backpack, looks ok)

I bought a Legacy Zip on eBay a few days ago from good_mood_forever with the Creed Number L6B-9966.

If I understand correctly, the second number ("6) refers to the year, which would be 1996. But when I look at the Coach Originals page on coach.com, the Legacy Zip is described as being in production since 1997.

I am pleased with the condition of the bag but wonder about that discrepancy. If necessary, I can give a link to the listing.

Thanks so much in advance.

HELP! Can you please verify if this is an authentic Coach bag? Creed #F0867-13026. Coach Signature Metallic Gallery Tote. Ebay Item #250941517888. I am selling this item and the buyer INSISTS it is a "fake". I know it isn't, but need proof. It was purchased at Macy's and has all the tags.

A bag officially released in 1997 could very well have been made the last few months of the previous year, yours was made in November 1996. And if you read my previous post here from December 9:
http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-694619-319.html#post20518365
you'll find more information about production dates. And if you've been reading the main Coach forum on a regular basis, many people buy bags before their official release dates.

From what I can see the bag looks fine although the seller should have posted a photo of the creed stamp, especially since the full serial number isn't given in the listing. While a serious discrepancy in the year code compared to the official release date can be a red flag, there are other things that need to be analyzed before assuming that it's not genuine.

Thanks so much for the quick response. I had e-mailed the seller before buying and had asked a few questions. In her reply, she did provide the full serial number. She did post my questions and her answers on the listing page.

I should have also asked her for a photo, something I will now always do. But even when a seller does include a photo of the creed/serial number, I'm finding that I can't read most of them.

I appreciate your taking the time to help me.

A similar question came up a few weeks ago (November 24) about the Legacy Zip's actual production dates, please read this too:

Excellent information, and I think your supposition is valid. O/T, Hyacinth, is there an actual list posted of eBay sellers who, shall we say, merit special scrutiny when it comes to authenticity? Or is just a piecemeal kind of thing when a poster here asks?

Legible picture of the creed is needed. (She may have copied the serial number incorrectly.)

See responses in red.

Ugh! When I posted my response, I thought that pink bag was fake but had second thoughts.

And in my haste to respond, I neglected to look at robynk46's other listings, including in feedback and completed.

The Dooneys appear to be okay but robynk46 knows exactly what kind of carp she's selling, as indicated by the lot listing Hyacinth referred to. In the listing, she describes it as including the fakes (7 of them!) as her "gift" to you. Blech!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/330620084707

I'm with Hyacinth in not only not recommending the seller but rather, recommending against a seller who knowingly mixes authentic and fake, describes her items in such a way that indicates she knows what she's doing and does absolutely nothing to make sure she's in compliance with the law.

Does the buyer say why she thinks it's fake? I see nothing wrong with that bag and absolutely nothing that indicates that it's fake. (Other Coach and Dooney items look fine too.)

If you'd like, please refer the buyer here and she can express her concerns.

Thanks for your response. She said she called Coach and they told her it was fake! I called and they would give me no answer. She said the dust bag is flimsy, the handles are poor quality and it was made in China! She said she knows her Coach bags, but I don't think so. These dust bags have been "silk" for a few years now and not the heavy bags they used to be. I am so insulted. I would NEVER buy, let alone sell, a fake Coach bag. The buyer was very abusive. The bag was perfect and Real

Coach hates ebay and resellers. If the buyer called Coach and said she bought the bag from Ebay, Coach is known to lie and tell people that bags are fake even if they are authentic.

Unless a bag has a known invalid serial number, one that Coach never used, they can't deem a bag as fake without seeing it. (And even then, Coach employees are so inept at recognizing authentic bags that I question whether they'd know in person either.)

As for the bag being made in China, Coach has been making bags in China, Turkey, Costa Rica, as well as several other countries for approximately a decade.

And over the years, dust bags have changed too. The bag you sold originally came with a satin white dust bag.

Clearly, your 2-feedback buyer doesn't know as much about Coach as she claims to and again, I'd recommend you refer her here (or to the ebay purse discussion boards) where she can voice her concerns.
