It looks authentic. The interior label looks the same as the one Coach has been using in recent years. Also, the exterior label and exterior metal chains/tags look authentic. The purple lining is also something I've seen with the green bags.
This is a purse I just bought and I am not sure it's real...Thanks in advance!

Comments: I've never seen such a plain looking bag, the hardware looks 'cheap', and I've never seen a Coach emblem that looked like the one on this bag. I just want to know if it is authentic before I bid.

I'd like to see a clearer readable photo of the whole creed, but I'd advise you not to bid. The bag looks like a genuine Neo - it's made of Neoprene, NOT leather, but the creed seems to say "glove-tanned cowhide". The hardware and emblems are correct for bags from this line but the creed discrepancy is a problem. It may just be a mistake by Coach but it means the bag is questionable.
FAKE! The style is completely wrong and doesn't even match the one in the serial number. A GENUINE style # 6818 looks like the photo below. The style you bought would be a carryall or tote style, not a Flap Bag
Even if the style number matched, the C pattern is poorly aligned on the front and not aligned at all on the back. The hangtag is also wrong although that's never enough to prove something's fake.
Get your money back, whoever sold that to you broke the law by doing so.

Can you get your money back? Where did you buy it? Is there a link to the listing somewhere?
EDIT: I just looked at that creed with a magnifying glass.
It says it's handcrafted of "the finest twill fabric."

pale_septembre - The examples you gave are just not enough to prove a bag is genuine, especially on a widely faked style like this one. And I'm already seeing a problem without even looking closely at the photos. There are a LOT more details that have to be compared.
And the bag in the listing the poster bought is BLACK, not green!
I'm sure you were trying to be helpful, but please wait until you're more experienced before trying to authenticate bags.

The Carriage plaque and pleats at the top front of the bag all look off-center. The Carriage emblem isn't placed at the exact bottom of the "V" by the top and second rows of stitches. And the 2 ends of the top row of pleats don't end at exactly the same position when compared to the handles.

I bought it at a consignment shop. They are going to contact the consigner see what she says, she previously had told them it was real. I sent her an email with the link to this forum and the ebay purse forum. Where they said it was fake too. If she determines it's fake then she will allow me to return it and give me a store credit (which I am ok with, I did buy the purse with the understanding it was real)...

Thank you! that clears up the problem although I'm not sure why the seller is saying it's Neoprene. If it's a Mercer, then it's genuine, and the serial number also checks out ok.

I was actually wrong about the fabric, it is not neoprene, it is twill with leather accents.
And there's also a comment deeming the bag authentic from their "authenticating moderator."
