I can't say for certain that it's counterfeit but the problems with the creed would make me hit the Back button - not just the size of the month code but the fact that the J plant code is for a Chinese plant, not an American one.

Thank you, the size didn't look right to me, or centered. I had no idea that the letters denoted the country that the plant is in. Newbie, ya know!:shrugs:

Item: Station Bag? w/ creed 0444-316
Listing number: 250857370893
Seller: danielleeartist
Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250857370893&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Comments: I think I might have bought a fake "vintage" bag after looking into the creed. The seller has 100% positive feedback. I wanted to check here first. I found the creed has been tagged in this thread: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/answers-to-authenticity-questions-94198-34.html "...0444-317, 0444-316 AND 0444-315 and possibly others beginning with 0444 - some "classic" fakes are showing up with these numbers and have a number of mistakes in the creed stamps and on the bags themselves. Assume they're all fake especially if they have a row of horizontal lines above and below the numbers

Thanks for your help!

I think it may be fake...it doesn't appear to have the same structure as my station bag. Also the creed looks off to me. I can't read any of it for spelling mistakes but it just looks iffy. The back pocket is sort of iffy to me too because mine doesn't have one...Also where the strap connects to the bag is the wrong spot mine is down further on the bag and not on the flap part where the handle is...
I would wait for the more experienced though to give you a definite answer.

Thanks. Do you think I should contact the seller before filling with PayPal (I paid about 30 minutes ago)? I wish I had checked here before paying; I will definitely be running items by here from now on. It was an impulse moment. :-(

Very fake, sorry, beginning with the serial number with all the fake "understamping lines" under and above each digit. Also it's a copy of a Willis, not a Station Bag, the strap is fake (but straps can be changed so that doesn't always prove something's fake) and the Coach logo isn't right either. But the serial number and the fake lines prove it's fake beyond doubt. (BTW, the placement of the back pocket is wrong for a Willis too).

If you haven't paid for the bag, DON'T. If you've paid, contact the seller and tell her the bag is counterfeit and illegal to sell and that if she ships it you'll send it back and insist on a full refund including all shipping charges. If you run into any problems, file a SNAD claim immediately with Ebay.

Tell the seller you'll agree to a Mutual Cancellation so she can get her fees back but if she insists on shipping it you'll file a SNAD with Ebay and Paypal.

Oh, I knew something looked wrong. And I paid and I used my eBay credit points. I am filing with PayPal right now for item not as described. Is it appropriate to have other auctions authenticated in this thread before bidding next time?

EDIT: I have to wait 24 hrs but have contacted the seller, so hopefully they will cooperate before I have to file.

Wait on filing the claim until you hear from the seller. Usually they'll agree to a Mutual Cancellation but try contacting her again. It's very likely that she didn't know it was fake, most Ebay sellers have no idea there even IS such a thing as a Fakes List.

Of course - it's a lot safer to ask BEFORE bidding rather than after. We do ask that you limit the number of auctions you ask about to 5 or 6 at a time maximum.

If they haven't already accepted the payment you may be able to go into paypal and cancel the payment...

This is such a wonderful community and I'm especially grateful for your help. I will definitely be running things by this forum first next time. I agree that the seller probably had no idea. Thanks again!

If you look at the feedback history and current items for sale it looks like mostly power tools that they sell. I am assuming they probably don't know a lot about bags.

Yeah, I just saw that! Well, at least, it seems, they probably had no idea it was a fake. I should have followed my gut. I'm a bit mad at myself for not researching more first.

Did they already accept your payment though? If they haven't you may be able to cancel it before they accept that way you might not have to go through the whole claim process.

The seller refunded me quickly and was very courteous. They do insist, however, that the bag is authentic, so hopefully it isn't relisted.

"I am confident that the bag is genuine, but I really am more concerned about you being satisfied with the transaction....I would be happy to issue a refund."
