It never hurts to ask although in this case it's probably not necessary since it looks ok. The style number should be 5164. BTW, that's a small backpack and was listed by Coach as "Kids Quilted Signature Backpack" and they gave the measurements as 8x10x5 inches so if that's smaller than what you need you may want to look for something larger. I don't have any info about how long the straps were but keep the size in mind.

I know it's authentic because my mom had it before but I couldn't remember the name. I couldn't find another thread to post in and didn't know the name. Thanks anyway.

She shouldn't even have listed it until she had it authenticated. It's a bad fake, the fabric pattern isn't centered and the stitching on the creed is sloppy and shouldn't be doubled or loose, and the leather looks more like vinyl and is much thinner than what Coach would use.

thanks so much! I was pretty sure it was fake. She doesn't normally sell purses and she didn't realize that she should authenticate it before she listed it.

I didn't know about the Prada, but she removed the Coach you referred to because I told her it wasn't authentic. She did list one authentic Coach. I'll tell her she needs to authenticate before she lists. Thanks!!!

Still not sure about the authenticity of this one, a Kristin raisin hobo posted earlier, but wanted to add for anyone looking for one that the seller says the bag was bought in the London Coach store, and that she had a gift receipt that expired. It has gold hardware, so I'm not bidding.

This looks good to me the colour is 'Raisin' and the hardware colour is correct. Here's a wristlet in the same style.

Coach is relatively new to the UK so maybe the seller lacks experience with the product line.

There's a thread at the "main" Coach forum for asking for IDs as long as you're sure something's genuine. But you'll still be asked to post enough photos including the creed patch and serial number along with measurements if possible so we can identify it. Coach has made thousands of different style bags and usually one or 2 photos aren't enough to identify a bag unless it's very distinctive. The serial number and a photo of the creed patch are very important in identifying a bag.

We always want to be sure a bag is genuine before identifying it since IDing it is actually a form of authentication. If we're not sure it's genuine than it doesn't get a name until we're sure. And we don't recommend that anyone buy a highly-faked brand like Coach without plenty of photos.

And looking like a genuine bag isn't enough, we need to see proof including close-up photos of specific areas of the bag. Plenty of fakes "look" real.

being a noobie, I might not be much help, but see if the seller can send you a few more pictures. More specifically, of the stamp that is always on the inside, showing the serial number clearly. At least that is what I have gathered from reading most of this thread trying to educate myself.

PS: Now hate living in a place that has no coach, 8 months of winter is bad enough, but I don't know if I can take the stress of buying online ! :nuts:

This is authentic. It was purchased from the factory. What are your specific concerns?
