That seller knows absolutely nothing about genuine Coach. Their listing passes on the nonsense about "YKK zippers prove a Coach is genuine" which is an absolute LIE. YKK zippers on a Coach prove absolutely NOTHING. Personally I wouldn't buy from someone who doesn't have a clue about telling real from fake and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else whether or not the bag is genuine. And there's one detail on the bag that makes me wonder about its authenticity even though other details look ok.

Thanks BB. I attach a picture of the inside below as requested:-

The item is not listed on a website. It is in my possession.
It's fine.

childrensbook_illustrator - I'll post the seller ID here.

In the future, please post in the format request in post #1 of the thread. It's helpful in future searches when checking on seller IDs (and items) to see if sellers have been discussed. http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-577470.html#post14912099

I agree with Hyacinth about not recommending a seller who has so little basic Coach knowledge that she would spout such misinformation.

Time to change my siggie.

Hi ladies! I've been meaning to introduce myself as I'm usually over in the Louboutin forum. I just got a new Coach bag & wallet in the mail today that I purchased off eBay. Something about it struck me as odd so I thought I would show it to you ladies and see what you think. I have owned Coach bags in the past and am a huge Coach shoe fan and I just feel that the quality is questionable. I am not all that familliar with the PVC bags so maybe it's just me, can you help?

Welcome! You did it right!:smile1:

Do you have a clear readable photo of the creed? The picture of the creed is not close enough to read.

Though the bag *looks* like a "Compartment Tote" from the Neo line - the wording on the creed is important in judging authenticity.

The creed is black on black and difficult to photo. It says
'This is a Couch product. It was handcrafted in Mexico from a custom-developed material. Trimmed with our classic gloved-tanned leather. This high-quality, durable fabric has been treated to withstand water and dirt."

There is also a circle within a circle slightly below and to the right of the Coach name on the creed.

Thanks.

I am sorry for the hijack, but I just wanted to take a moment...and tell our lovely Coach authenticators that they are awesome. I have ventured into a few different Authenticate This categories on the Forum, and BY FAR are you all the absolute best.
Thank you for all the time and effort and compassion you put into this day after day. You really do care about us, and you all do everything you possibly can to help us get authentic bags. You offer your opinions, and give us more than just one liners when we have questions. You don't turn anyone away unless you don't feel comfortable authenticating something. I really, really enjoy just reading this thread, learning, and witnessing some very awesome ladies helping their fellow members out. I would recommend you all to anyone looking for a Coach.

Thank you so much. You have made my bag life, personally, a LOT better. :D

(Now back to the show, LOL!)

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement! :smile1:

And speaking of Rules, you know the one about "The Cs should always be centered and the right & left sides on Signature C bags should be mirror images of each other"?

Not always! These are Coach's own pics of a Messenger style 70077 that came out in 2007 and has been re-released for the outlets. The outlet bags have a few detail changes but one thing Coach DIDN'T change is the wonky C pattern. And of course the recent MFF(outlet) Signature Tartan bags & accessories don't follow the Rule either:

I always wondered that! I have the Tartan Tote that I bought at a outlet, and I was a bit dismayed at the pattern. lol That has been in the back of mind for some time. One of my mysteries solved. Thanks again.
