Thanks for your comments. I appreciate all your help. I hope I will learn as time goes on. I don't think you can ever tell 100% until you get the purse in your hands, so I think you have to rely on things like the seller's history to help you make your decision. Obviously you know more about that seller than I do, and I thought you had posted it but I couldn't find it at the time. If a counterfeiter makes a bag that looks identical to the real thing, how can you tell? Even the receipt from the Coach store can be faked. From now on, I'll only comment on purses I own or the obvious ones with the fake linings or incorrect creeds. Regarding my comments about the seller with only one picture, I did suggest that she ask for more pictures before she made her decision. Again, thanks!
FIRST you rely on the details of the bag itself, and it takes a lot more to authenticate those than one or 2 pictures on Coach's or Nordies' websites. Unless you have a genuine bag in front of you that was actually bought from Coach or one of their retail partners, or have an up to date library of at least 8 or 10 photos of a GENUINE bag, and you know what details to compare, it's not a good idea try to authenticate. Some of the fakes are almost identical in every detail to genuine ones.
And as BeenBurned said, many sellers have sold fakes and received Positive FB for them, and some very experienced sellers have mistakenly listed fakes. The seller's history is only one of the factors we look at, so please never use it as proof something is authentic.
We appreciate that you're trying to help, but if you're not basing your opinions on detail-to-detail comparison, that's not a good thing.
