Now that I think of it, the other bag that I almost bought was probably a Worth bag, and I already do have that bag in navy. I just have too many vintage bags to keep track of them all!

I need to do something with them. Sell them or give them away or stop buying them! But I really enjoy finding them and working on them so I keep doing it! :confused1:

I'm jealous of your Basic Bag find! I've been searching in vain for an NYC bag to rehab, and I just love these. Hopefully one of these days I'll cross paths with one!

I have the same problem with acquiring bags to rehab and then not wanting to let them go...I become attached to them after all that work! I just wish they came in more colors so I would have a larger color variety, but I love them nonetheless :) They really just don't make them like they used to! Good luck with your new finds and please post pics when you are done!

I know, I keep thinking of things I should do with them but I don't want to let them go. I do wear them, but I have way more than I need! But they are so simple, lovely, and well-made and I have worked hard to revive them.

I think it was DemRam that once said that these classic bags will still be going strong when the more modern bags are passe, she was right!

Good luck, I am sure that you will find a NYC bag to rehab soon, keep looking! I will post the after pics, thanks!

The first 2 are ok, the third is questionable and maybe fake. The box or cartouche around the creed is uneven, the serial # is way off-center and the digits aren't lined up, and the month code and plant codes are wrong if the first digit is a capital "i" and the spacing of the letters in the creed statement is also very uneven. It looks like a handmade stamp instead of something Coach would have made. Sorry.

That is disappointing. What you think is an I is a J just a very light impression. I love the style and size this bag. It's such a shame! Thank you!

I had a red one that I let go and recently came across a brown one but passed it up. They are nice!!!

Item: Coach - Black Leather Bag (name?)

Considering this bag - it is listed locally on a for sale forum, I asked for additional pics and this is what she sent me - she does claim it is authentic

Maybe need a clearer pic of the creed?

TIA ladies!

OK, the seller has added more pics. I'd appreciate opinions.

What worries me is that although Coach apparently did make that style, everything I've found online has been listed by sites that seem to be selling fakes and/or are located in SE Asia. All are using the same exact photos which are obviously stolen from Coach.com and most of the sites are bringing up some sort of neutral caution or warning from my McAfeeSite Advisor which can mean that the site isn't as safe as it should be. In the first three pages I Googled there haven't been ANY listed on Ebay, current or completed, or any halfway legitimate sales site.

It's hard to believe that something that came out almost a year ago has no record of being sold on Ebay but there are TONS of them selling on fakes sites. So while there's no proof either way, the evidence in front of me would make me hit the Back button on any "Coach" in that particular style.

TIA ladies!

The style number looks like -9250 but I can't find any information or name for it. The bag looks genuine though.

There have been some very good leather fakes, and there have also been some genuine Coaches with flaws and mistakes. This one is just impossible to verify either way. But I've never seen a recent bag (within the last 15 years or so) with such a strange creed stamp.

My advice would be to use the bag yourself, but please don't sell it or donate it.

Thanks for the advice, Hyacinth!

If you ever do decide to part with any of them let me know! I love the vintage bags and you do an amazing job rehabbing them! I can't bring myself to buy new coach except for my wallet. I really don't like them for some reason. The styles are nice but they just don't have that nice thick sturdy feel to them like the vintage bags do.
