come across this website, http://www.topbags-outlet.com
they claim that their coach bags are authentic, does anyone know if this is true?

thank you
They sell fakes.

If you do the whois lookup on topbags-outlet, you'll see that they're located in Guangdong, China, the fakes capital of the world.

If their items "look" good, it's because the pictures shown on the website are often stolen stock photos and/or pictures from legitimate sellers of authentic items.

I can guarantee that you won't get authentic Coach if you buy from them.

DON'T buy from topbags-outlet.com

All their photos are stolen right from Coach's website so a buyer has NO idea of what she's actually buying. Their email is a gmail account instead of their own domain, and they're illegally using Coach's trademarks and trademarked graphics without permission. Any site other than Coach.com claiming to be a part of Coach is selling fakes. There's only one real online Coach outlet and you have to be invited thru email by Coach to use it - this is NOT that site.

It looks good.

I feel like a broken record but I'll repeat it anyway. Sellers should NOT be using a stock photo in any listing, but especially when the seller has a camera and includes her own pictures, it's even less appropriate to use it.

I echo BB's comment about stock photos. Both listings look good, but neither seller should be using a stock photo.

Thanks BB and starrymaz! I totally agree about the stock photos, both these seller took good pictures without them. My theory is they do it to show that Coach did make a sytle like they are selling, still doesn't make it right though.

thank you beenburned and hyacinth for the info. :smile1:

You're welcome. :smile1:

Always read a site's information on shipping and returns too. This site charges a $40 Return Fee plus a 25 percent restocking fee, a common practice of fakes-selling sites since they get a lot of returns because their garbage isn't authentic. Any GENUINE Coach-run site would accept returns and refund your full purchase price.

Hi all...so glad to have found this site. I'm an eBay seller (who normally sells high-end mens suits) who took in several items for consignment, with a "Coach" messenger bag among the items. When it comes to mens suits I know almost all authenticity markers...when it comes to Coach I know none! I won't list anything about which I am uncertain regarding authenticity, so I'm hoping to find some help.

Here are the pics:

Thanks in advance!

I've been doing a bit more digging and found something that makes authenticity a bit shaky. The month and year code in that bag indicate that it was made in September of 1996, but going through my old Coach catalogs the first listing for that style number 9065 Legacy Mail Bag is in the late 1998 "1999 Preview" catalog, and that style is listed as "New". So the actual release date in the catalog is 2 years after the date shown in the bag.

It's remotely possible that Coach may have originally made this style in late 1996 and then held back the official release for 2 more years but there's no way to confirm that although that may have happened with one other different style bag during the same time period. So I can't verify that it's genuine or fake, just that it's questionable.

It looks ok, though it would be helpful to see a closeup picture of the creed. Note that there is wear and fraying on the corners.

I've asked twice and haven't received a reply. Someone asked about the dimensions and this was posted

11 1/2" wide x 10 3/4" tall
If she doesn't respond to your questions before making a sale, how would you expect her to act afterwards in the event of a problem with the bag.

IMO, a seller who doesn't answer questions or supply additional pictures needed for proof of authenticity doesn't deserve your business.

I believe 850jaycee is referring to the listing from miximart:

I agree with BB. If the seller doesn't respond, I would look for another seller.

Oops, you're right. I didn't compare the measurements to the bag in question. I stand by my response.
