We need to see pictures to authenticate but it sounds like a type of Mercer bag. (The metal plate isn't indicative of fake but it doesn't prove authenticity either.)

Thank you for your answer. I just didn't want to waste your time if the mental plate is already an indication of fake. I will take some pictures of the bag for you to authenticate.

:smile1:

The seller already has 2 strikes against her by claiming "values" for the hangtag and dustbag totalling $73 since both those items are free - Coach will replace a lost hangtag at no charge, and the dustbag is a newer one, not the one that came with the bag. Also it's only 13 years old so it's NOT vintage.

I'm also a little concerned about the month code since supervisors at a plant that had been running as long as Coach's "B" plant should have had 4 years of experience in making sure the correct month code was on the stamp. But it's possible that someone made a dumb mistake, since the bag itself looks genuine.

It's called a Beaumont Satchel, not a Speedy or a Doctor bag.

ETA - I would definitely STAY AWAY from listings by energyambit - they also have a fake Court Bag ripoff with a well-known fake number M4N-4154

Comments: Although this seller does not have any experience in selling bags, from his comments I am assuming he is an estate or garage sale buyer. I have already asked the seller for a picture of the creed, does this set off any alarms yet? Also, do you know if his measurements are accurate and what the drop length is? As always, thank you angels!

It appears to be fine pending a photo of the creed. Note that the bag isn't vintage as the seller describes. It's from approx 5-7 years ago.

The seller has posted the creed, I see it is from 2005 and from what I have found in the reference thread, possibly MFF. It has the target stamp, does this look good? TIA!

It's fine.

Hello again.
I bought another key chain on eBay and am not sure that it's real. Charms are a little small and they don't seem to weigh enough. On the plus side, the finish is better than the most recent fakes I've encountered. Also, each charm is stamped COACH on the back, and the COACH hang tag is stamped "Made in China".

I think it's okay but the colors look "off" from what the spring mix keychain (style 92439) should look like. It could be the lighting, flash and camera angle that distort the look. Please wait for other opinions on seller dvtran's listing just to verify.

(On your keychain, I don't believe that the dragonfly should have the Coach stamp on the back.)

Another bothersome issue with this seller's listings (especially keychains) is that she doesn't show the full view and the listings only have one (partial) picture.

For keychains, the minor details are often important so sellers need to show the front and back of the charms, lozenge hangtag and have clear pictures.

In the future, please post authentication requests in the format requested here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-577470.html#post14912099

The charms on the 2009 Spring Mix 92439 are a bit smaller than the larger charms on the 2010 Spring Mix 92853 - both are shown below. Maybe the 2009 one had resin-filled charms instead of enamel like they usually have, which would explain the lighter weight - they have that plastic look to them. But that's just a guess and I don't have a real one for comparison, maybe someone else does. Except for the color differences (lighting can make a big difference in how colors photograph) it may be ok.

When you get the keychain, can you lay it out against a white background so it looks like Coach's photo and post a picture here?

BB, the seller does show half a dozen photos, and it looks like the dragonfly doesn't have a Coach stamp. Scroll down a ways for the other photos.
