Hi
I am new and I hope I'm doing this correctly. I apologize if I'm not.
I have a Coach purse from my aunt and I want to authenticate it.
The tag says H4B-4903 and is caramel in color with a long shoulder strap. on the coach tag, the stamp of the serial number shows the bottom of another serial number above it. This struck me as odd and I hope it's not a fake. c:%5Cusers%5Ckaren%5CPictures%5C2011-2-05%20ebayfebsinkpurse011.jpg I'm not sure if I attached a pic correctly either. Please help if you can
thank you

Welcome to thePurseForum! :smile1:

Your bag's genuine. Even though both the serial prefix and suffix have shown up on fakes, on that particular bag they're actually genuine. Those bits of another serial number are the previous numbers from Coach's stamping mechanism and they actually add more proof that the bag is real, as long as each one matches what should be the next number or letter in the sequence. In other words, the long straight line above a "2" should be like the base of the number "1". And look at the base of the "A" right above the letter B.

The bag is a Sonoma Flap Natural Grain from 1994 and is just what it claims to be.

A larger clear pic of the Demi's creed would help but from what I can see, it looks ok. I don't know the style name though.

The Patchwork Carly seems to be ok but for some reason one of Ebay's pics aren't loading - that's been happening a lot lately. I'm not seeing any obvious red flags, but wait for more opinions.

Thanks, Hyacinth! I've had the same problem loading pictures, but I figured it was just my computer!

These I'm looking to buy - verdict? Thanks so much!

I've looked at this style so many times, I'm *almost* sure it's real, but want your stamp of approval before I BIN.

For some reason known only to her, my daughter in law adores this green color, but I've never seen this style before and the creed is not clear. There's still a little time if you need a close up of the creed.

Both look good to me.

I believe the green one had "perforated" in the style name but I don't recall the rest of it. :(

My aunt also gave me this as a gift and I'm trying to resell it, but I wanted to make sure it's authentic. I hope the pictures are large enough D:

Thank you!
I don't like those collage-style pictures for a number of reasons.

They aren't large enough or detailed enough to show the parts of the bag that are necessary for both you (as seller) to prove authenticity and for me (as buyer) to know what I'm getting.

Another reason why many of us dislike collages is that many of the websites that sell fakes use similar picture styles and the last thing you want is for your items to be mistaken as coming from one of those sites.

Sellers need to show clear closeups of various parts of the bag and if you don't want to spend the extra 15 cents per picture that ebay charges, then open a free account on Photobucket, Inkfrog, Tinypix or another similar photo-hosting website. You can post the pictures from there without any additional cost.

You need to end the listing until you can get confirmation that the item is authentic. And again, based on those pictures, it's impossible to tell.

Hi,

Ok thanks for the suggestion. For some reason I didn't know you could link to free image hosts but that would help. I'll take better pictures and repost them later.

I was pretty sure it's authentic, but a very rude buyer made me doubt my aunt's word but it's better safe than sorry.

If this is an auction listing we need the URL of the auction or online sale. See Post #1 all the way back in this thread for the needed format. Often the seller's history is just as important as the photos of the bag they say they're selling.

The seller REALLY needs to provide better photos especially of the creed patch and serial number. If the serial actually does end in -6122 then the bag is fake. If the seller wants your business she needs to take large clear pics using her camera's Macro setting.

Assuming the number is correct (and often it isn't, a lot of people make mistakes copying and writing down numbers) I'd have to tell you NOT to buy that bag.

Broke the requests up so there weren't so many one post!

I just noticed some of these have sellers in common - if any of these sellers are *Trusted Sellers*, I would love to know this. Since I know NOTHING about Vintage items, I'm concerned about hijacking the thread with my requests! LOL

**note: my items**
just wanted to add (thanks for previous authentication noshoepolish) that both of these bags (although authentic) are rather well worn.

Comments: I've been away from Coach for a while and need help authenticating. Thanks!

Am I doing something wrong with my requests for authentication? I'm sorry if I am!! Mine seems to be getting lost in the shuffle. Thanks.
I'm sorry. I don't think you've been lost or ignored. My guess is that no one is certain enough of authenticity to advise you one way or another. There are some pretty "good" fakes in this style and we don't want to give you a green light unless we're sure.

Ok, thanks! I'll stay away from it just to be safe.

I saw those green bags at the outlet a few years ago, sorry I don't remember the name.
