What a pretty fake. Is there a genuine bag that is similar? I saw a fake Coach at a hospice store on Sat., it was falling apart!!! Haahaaa the handle was separating. The vinyl was showing. What a pathetic mess. It should have been trashed.

If you mean the one with the multicolor leather stripes, there were several genuine styles that were often copied by the fakers, and I've probably seen more fakes in these styles than real ones. Most but not all have serial numbers that are on the Fakes List. These are the real ones - 6780 - Wristlet, 9298 - Ergo Pieced Zip Bag:

seller = liveluv

I don't see any red flags but the seller doesn't show a pic of the creed and there's an inconsistency in her description.

The title shows 6112 as the style (which is correct) but the description has two different serial numbers mentioned.

Also, I'm not sure the bag is correctly described as vintage. It's from 1999 so it's 12 years old.

Please request a photo of the creed.

In the past, the seller had listed a fake Coach bag on Bonz. I haven't seen any fakes since: http://forum.purseblog.com/ebay-forum/bonanzle-fakes-421522-147.html#post15631668

6112 is the right style number - it looks like the seller added a creed photo. The creed description also matches the bag.

Definitely not vintage though. :graucho:

There's always a tiny chance that someone at the plant just messed up when stamping the style number, but that "No" just doesn't look right either.

Thank you for your help.

The hardware is stamped "solid brass" but is silver in color. That doesn't look right to me.

More pics. I can't get a good image of the zipper pull. It is stamped YKK.

A few genuine pieces of hardware are stamped "Solid Brass" but not like that. And solid brass is naturally brass-colored, that hardware is just plated Mystery Metal.

Zippers marked YKK don't prove anything about authenticity, unfortunately. The bag isn't genuine.

Thanks Hyacinth. I already gave it a bath on its way to being reconditioned. At lease it will be clean for it's trip to the trash!!!

It wasn't that much it was 24 bucks but I like it lol but got a good one today and it's real Dillards baby lol. Question how come Coach is now made in China I would think paying that much for a bag it would be made somewhere good.

EVERYTHING is made in China. You may want to look at the labels and tags on some of the other things in your closet. And your TV. And your stereo. And your personal electronics. And your kitchen appliances.

As for Why? - you'd have to ask Coach. Or all the thousands of other manufacturers who have relocated there.

It always helps to post measurements along with photos.

Both are genuine. They look like Dinky Bags from the early or mid 1980s but only if they're about 9x5 inches. .

Thanks to a sharp-eyed poster for catching the differences in the red bag. Unless it has a turnlock it's not a Dinky but we need more photos to figure out the style, also measurements if you have them. Thanks!

Angelfin, if it doesn't have a separate wristlet-type strap the red one may be a Small Zippered Pouch but that's just a guess.

Hi All,
Can any one tell me what the name of this bag is. Is it authentic? And is it made of vachetta leather? Does anybody think that if the whole bag is cleaned(washed) that the water marks may blend a little better? Thank You

Bobbi

I don't think you can clean or wash Vachetta. Once it's stained, it's permanent. You couldn't wash that one even if it was regular glove leather because of the lining.

Someone correct me if that's not the case. There are plenty of posts here about cleaning Vachetta leather but I've never tried to do it.

And yes, it's genuine.
