Please help me authenticate this white Coach Soho duffle bag i got from ebay.ph (Ebay Philippines site).
http://cgi.ebay.ph/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300515636531&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT When I received it, I felt uneasy because though it doesn't scream fake, something looked off. I asked the seller for a refund but she insisted that it's authentic. I feel bad coz the seller sounded nice and I have a feeling that she's not aware the bag she sold was a fake (esp when you factor in where the item was shipped from -- it's in the part of our country famous (infamous??) for having rows of old buildings filled with 2nd hand stuff.) I created a flickr account where I uploaded pictures of the bag: http://www.flickr.com/photos/58593219@N08. Please give me your opinions and feedback regarding the bag's authenticity. Thank you so much!

I can't get in to see your Flickr photos, but just looking at the photos in the original listing, there don't seem to be any red flags. What areas do you think look fake?

Do you have that part of your Flickr account set to Private? Or do I need a Flickr account to be able to see them? I just get a page that says
"berry_angel83 doesn't have anything available to you."

Welcome to tPF. In the future, please post in the request format posted in the first post of the thread.

Lately, we've been seeing an awful lot of "scary good" fakes from Filippino sellers. These are bags that are definitely fake but the details are so close that we literally must do side by side comparisons to known authentic items in order to see the differences.

In the case of the Coach bag you bought from jophiecute, I don't believe that's the case.

Your Flicker album isn't viewable (for me, anyway) but if the bag you received is the same one as in the pictures, it looks fine.

You say that the bag doesn't scream fake, but that something is off. What do you perceive as being "wrong?"

To be honest, I can't say I blame the seller (in this case) for being defensive. In the future, you should either authenticate items before bidding/buying or at least, have them authenticated before accusing a seller of sending a fake.

All this said, I'm not particularly fond of some of jophiecute's listings. Some items are labeled as LV but rather than listing as "Louis Vuitton," she has them as "Branded." Whether they are authentic or not, I don't know but it certainly evident that she's either avoiding listing restrictions or there's another reason why she isn't describing them as the brand name.

Some of her other listings may or may not be authentic but I don't see any problem with the Coach bag you bought.

Thank you so, so much for the quick response, I have already changed the privacy settings of my flickr account. :)
I'm only seeing the picture of the creed in your album. The serial number isn't showing although I can see a bit of the lining and the lining is absolutely correct. I'm still not seeing any problems.

I think you owe the seller an apology.

That's so funny because just this morning I was sitting at my computer with a magnifying glass trying to make out a teeny coach style number!

I recently bought the blue and white striped enamel bow ring and bangle bracelet (shown in the attached screenshot) at the outlet and I am trying to find the other matching pieces. The tag on the ring is so darn tiny!

That's where a good image viewer program can come in handy too. Irfanview is pretty good, can resize most images within reason, and it's free. But the magnifying glass is faster. :D

Thanks, I can see the creed now but I'm still not seeing any problems. What "Rules" do you think the bag doesn't follow? And I hope you understand that almost all valid rules (and there aren't many!) have exceptions, and most of the "rules" that are posted at different sites on the Internet are complete nonsense.

^^Hyacinth, I'm sorry for the improper request format. I really appreciate your feedback. :) Anyway, from the pictures she has posted, I honestly believed it's the real thing as I have several Coach bags (gifted by relatives in the US) and though I'm aware that there are fakes out there, I was under the impression that the all-leather bags were quite safe from counterfeiters.
Thanks for the tip, Warcraft Wench. :)

Oops, sorry. In have changed the permissions for all 44 photos. Please check out the entire album. If you'd still say that it's authentic after viewing all the pictures, I'd be first to admit my mistake and apologize to the seller as she's really nice. :)

NOTHING is safe from the counterfeiters.

The only "problem" I see is the runon word where it should say "reflect our" but it says "reflectour."

Although that could be a concern if there were other problems with the bag and the creed, I don't believe it's indicative of a fake in this case.

I think it's just one of those glitches that sometimes shows up.

Other opinions are welcome.

Not a problem. I think by default it is set to private when you open an account. I had a sewing project that I needed to take photos of the steps for a class and when I emailed the students the photos none of them could see them. One of them informed me that I needed to change the settings.

Here are several items I've noticed that are kinda off:
1. crooked stitching on some parts of the bag
2. the creed patch is not centered
3. also on the creed: there is no space bet the words 'reflect' and 'our'
4. glue and paint residue near the stitches
5. the lozenge logo on the buckle was not stamped well
6. the loop on the strap is poorly made
6. hangtag: poor stitching, esp on the back
