Could you tell me about the year this bag was made?
I bought it at the Outlet a year ago and was just trying to figure out when it was made. It still had papers in it to register your bag with Coach.

I'm just looking for some information on a Coach bag that I know I bought over 20 years ago the number stamped on the inside is 702 6728 - it is navy blue leather and has a flap that fastens with a buckle and strap - there is a loop under the flap to feed the strap into if you did not want to close the bag it has an open pocket under the flap and a full zipper pocket on the back wall - the bottom of the bag is rounded off and it is abnout 2 /12 inches deep, 10 inches wide and 9 inches high approximate measurements. I cannot remember the name of the bag or the year that I bought it. I tried contacing Coach with the information and they told me that the last four numbers were from some sort of appliqued floral straw bag - which this is most definitely not. So I thought I would try and see if you had any information - I saw one on line, but the numbers were not matching - they just called in a New York bag - it does say that it was made in New York on the label. Thank you very much.

I think I read that the first 4 characters will have the year in the middle. Would this bag be from 2005?

You're correct. E05Q = E is the month (May), 05 is the year (2005), Q is the factory code.

It's a "Legacy Zip" made in 2005.

Do what "bunny" suggested and attach photos of your bag.

The people at Coach are clueless about older Coach bags. They should have told you that a "7 digit" serial number was made Pre-1994 and is a "random" number . It has nothing do with the style of the bag.

We'd love to see pictures.
