Thanks again to Hyacinth and DemRam and all of our lovely Authenticators! I just posted before and after pics at the link below for several vintage bags that you ladies authenticated for me. The after pics didn't come out well - everything has an "orangish cast" but the bags look great in real-life and I really enjoy having them. I truly appreciate your expertise, time, and dedication. Happy New Year!

Comments: Does it look ok? I have requested the creed and pics of the corners of the bag to check out how much wear there is because so far all the others I have been looking at have really bad wear on the corners of the bag. Also is it a station bag? I'm not sure how accurate the measurements are.

Item: Coach lg Flap Hobo
Color: wine - like
Size: 12 x 12
Creed # E04S-9646

Can someone help me to authenticate and name this bag? It is similar to a 9480 lg. flap hobo, but larger and has studs and grommets. Could it have been a limited or special edition of some type? It also has a lot of variation in the leather color, doesn't seem to be wear, but like it was made to look worn.

That leather really looks pretty beat up. I'm seeing worn spots and slight discoloration on the front, front flap and back, and which makes it even more suspect is that there doesn't seem to be any heavy wear or color loss in the corners. The leather doesn't look like it's ever been conditioned either except maybe for the lighter-colored area in the right center of the back where it looks as is if they tried to condition or rub the lighter-colored area.

I'd definitely want to see closer pics of the front flap and the top half of the back of the bag, along with the creed stamp and the inside. Personally if I saw that listing I don't think I'd bid, but that JMO.

It's a Willis Bag and those HAVE been faked, so better pics are really needed. More opinions would be appreciated.

Here are more pic of other parts of the hobo style flap bag. the top of the handle is wrapped from under and tightly braided through grommets. Also...it has 2 sections inside, divided by the center which has the zippered compartment, creed, and key ring attachment. TIA, girls.

It was made to look worn. That's a Soho Vintage Duffle from 2004 and the leather was "distressed" just like the more recent Vintage leather bags. I don't know if there were any recommendations from Coach about not using any cleaners or conditioners like there have been with the more recent leathers but it was made to look worn right from the start. The website does say it's ok to use their products on the Soho Vintage leather though.

The color was Bordeaux. I don't know if they were Limited but you don't find many for sale.

Here's Coach's photo:
