I see several red flags with this bag. There are problems with the fabric, stitching, hardware, rivets, lining, and inside zipper pull. Do not bid without seeing a picture of the creed.

Good grief! I really flubbed that one. Definitely get a picture of the creed.

This is the bag it's supposed to be, style 10484.

How much did you spend? If it's more than a few bucks, you should get a refund.

I only spent £10 and anyway it went to a charity run by sweet, well-meaning* old ladies, so I still consider it money well spent. As long as the cycle of fakery ends with me, I'm okay with it.

Thanks again for all your help!

*I don't think they realised they were selling a fake bag - as far as they were concerned, they were just selling 'A bag that came with the donations that morning'.

Although the bag in the pictures appears to be okay, I don't recommend seller dlsoy123 as it appears that the seller steals (at least) some pictures from other sellers.

The 4th picture showing the bottom of the bag was stolen from this listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/NWT-COACH-e-w-p...587?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item563cf950e3

And in this listing for the same style in a different color, the seller uses the same stolen picture of a white bag when he's selling a black one!
http://cgi.ebay.com/348-NWT-Coach-L...098?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item5addffa822

I don't feel comfortable recommending any seller who uses other sellers' pictures because as a buyer, you don't know what you're getting.

I used the second listing as reference for the first...and the first one just did not add up. The stitching looks wrong, texture looks wrong, among other little things.
They could both be authentic, just from different years...but I like the second listing better.
Before I buy a black Legacy wallet, I would like to know more about them...counterfeiters make very good fake wallets.
Thanks in advance for your help and I hope to learn more about these! :D

The original Legacy Leather Framed French Purse from 2006 was the one that had the white top-stitching. The style number of this wallet is 40208. The 2007 version was the one that had the gray stitching. This style number is 40705.

There were differences in the color and placement of stitching in the 2006 and 2007 versions of the Legacy wallets and wristlets for the Black and Whiskey colors.

As for the wallets in the listings you asked about, more pictures are needed.

I do have some concerns about the second seller's use of pictures. In many of her listings, she uses stock photos stolen from the Coach website or other sources and in some of the pictures there are different backgrounds and photography styles.

For example:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Stunning-COACH-...691?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item3a6143be13

http://cgi.ebay.com/NWT-COACH-Petro...628?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item564181425c

http://cgi.ebay.com/Chic-COACH-Gray...727?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item5641924a1f

http://cgi.ebay.com/Stunning-COACH-...574?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item5641924986

http://cgi.ebay.com/Stunning-COACH-...776?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item56418a7280

If a seller is able to take her own pictures, there is NO reason to be using stock photos.

I'm also uncomfortable about the second seller.

Although I wasn't able to find other sources of possible picture "borrowing," I did find a couple of questionable listings.

The following 2 listings are for the same item and use the same gallery picture. Since the second listing has additional pictures of the item, I suspect that jamibw1980 stole from that seller.

Her listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/Chic-COACH-Zebr...493?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item56418141d5

Stolen from this listing?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...ags&rt=nc&si=MMI4uF8oM7NYhwKI7pxCB%2FPKXAs%3D

And jamibw1980 has 2 different listings for this wallet. One wallet is used and the other is new, but the pictures in the listings certainly are very different as far as quality.

Personally, I too, feel uncomfortable about this seller.

I've been watching this seller for awhile, and it appears that she buys for resale under another ID and then lists the items she purchased, sometimes using "borrowed" pictures from the original seller.

For example,

This listing from jamibw1980
http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-COACH-Madi...973?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item3a618008c5

uses the same pictures as this original listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/COACH-MADISON-P...820?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45f70b42fc

Listing from jamibw1980:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Stunning-COACH-...776?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item56418a7280

some of the pictures were taken from this listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...3&si=xdiJsVbRrEKtzz3pdkRh2LmlGNk%3D&viewitem=

I've seen other cases of this "picture borrowing" in her past listings.

LOL! Good catch.

Even if she bought the items from those sellers, she needs permission to use their pictures and I doubt that she has it.

I caught a "fake coach seller" the other day. They were selling a really really cute what looked like a carly tattersall with a black coach emblum on the front. I've never seen it before and all they had was the 1 picture. I asked for a picture of the inside label and they responded by saying " if you are looking for authenticity I will admit to you it is a replica. Do you still want pictures?" Ha yea right. No thanks! Although it would have been the cutest coach purse Ive ever seen in my opinion. I did send a report. shamefull seller. They put coach everywhere on the description and no where did it say replica or fake.
