You're right, I should have gone back just a bit further. There's no doubt at all that the one in the second link is genuine and the information in that listing is correct. That one's from late 2006 when Coach kicked off their 65th Anniversary and brought out the first of the Legacy Stripe pieces. This one's a Madison Legacy Stripe or maybe just a Madison Stripe Bag.

The one you bid on looks ok but please post pics anyway. And I'm glad to see that the hangtags in the other 2 listings look the same as the one you bought.

I'll be chiseling the "no posting before at least 2 cups of caffeine" right under "no posting after midnight"! And OMG! It would never occur to me to bid while drinking - that would be soooooooooooooooooooo bad! And I am starting to understand that there is only one rule here - THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR EXPERIENCE! I'll bet that there are times when you experts just "know because you know". Because you've seen thousands and thousands of the real deal and the same (or more) fakes.

I was shocked when I saw a member say they threw their bag in the washer! I just assumed it would ruin the leather. So far, my little rescue project is going very, very well - much better than I thought it would be. It's taken just a little time and a lot of TLC (and drying time), but I think I could get passable (for summer, when I'm in and out of the car 20 times during Saturday errands and toss the bag around like a sack of potatoes (with the kitchen sink inside!). But, hubby had a better idea! We gave our daughter a little surprise gift when she earned her Bachelor's degree a couple of months back - a Sig tote with matching wristlet from a recent Factory visit. My 8 year old grand-daughter grabbed the wristlet and said "Grandma, the big one is Mommy's and the little one is mine, right?" :lolots: Needless to say, Mom got rid of *that* little notion immediately! Hubby said we should give this new "not so perfect" one to the "fashionista in training" - what better time and what better way to teach her how to care for her things? Plus, we get the bonus of look on Mom's face! :lolots:



And here I am back to "you know because you know", you can just *tell* the difference between a quality nylon zipper and one that looks like it's going to break if breathe on it the wrong way.

Thanks for the advice on feedback - I didn't want to encourage the SNAD behavior, but I wasn't stuck with it, either. I'll just not leave any feedback.

Fashionistas-in-training definitely deserve a genuine Coach, even if it shows a little wear.

So far, it's cleaned up very well, but the fabric is showing wear on the bottom from all the cleaning, so we're giving it to our fashionista!

I saw that this am and I'm right there with you - I love the tartan and am watching the E/W tote (it's awesome with the black patent handles/trim), but I hate that one from your link. It *does* look like a BAD fake!

I bought this at a popular discount retailer (not sure if I can mention the name here). It did come with the Coach price tag and brown dust bag w/ the new horse and carriage logo on them. The leather is thick, reminds me of the old Coach in the mid 90s (not thin like an ergo hobo I had in 2008) and smells like them, too, when newly purchased. I'm only 50/50 convinced it's real because of the 3 bottom right corner stitches being overlapping (doubled) shown in the last picture. It also has tattersall lining but no "coach" all over it, and the serial number has a Z on it. However, the inside pocket zipper does have the YKK and the bag seems well-made, and the "A" on the "COACH" on the hangtag and creed is pointed on top, not rounded like the fakes. Sorry this is rather long. TIA.

I recently saw one of these just like this at my Nordstrom Rack. The "Z" indicates it was a style made to sell outside of the Coach stores (not in the outlet, not in the boutiques, but other retailers), and the other details in it look ok. Do you have the hangtag you read the details from to show us the retailer you bought it from?

Hi there. First off, I'm a newbie but plan on posting a lot more in the future!

I'm currently looking at two Coach purses that a friend of a friend is selling. Sorry this isn't the correct format, but I don't have a lot of info on these two purses. I don't have a link, only a few pics that she emailed me. I don't know the style names, sorry. Neither of these purses are the one I really want (small Coach Heritage satchel), but I like both of these regardless.

Both bags are gently used, so there are no retail prices tags on them.

Here are a few pics that were emailed to me. For some reason, I couldn't get the manage attachments to work properly, so I hope it's ok to use Photobucket links. I just saved the pics from my email to my computer, then uploaded them to Photobucket.

Thanks for any and all help! She's offering both of them to me for $60, and says that the one is too small, and she just doesn't really care for the other one too much. It's a fair price if they're real, but I don't wanna pay $60 (or any other amount) if they aren't authentic.

Looks good, I've never seen that particular style faked - yet. Coach lists it as a Hamptons Small Field Bag rather than a Mini.

Can you please authenticate this wallet! I would love to buy from an outlet, but I have called all over the country today and none of the Factory stores will help me out. A store in Freeport, Maine has it, but the lady that answered the phone was a bit snippy and told me very bluntly that they don't ship. What drives me nuts is that I could get it for $66-67 if I was at the store. I really would prefer that, but I am not anywhere close and they don't do phone orders. That being the case, I am forced to go to eBay. I am looking for the Julia large zip around wallet 43806 in lilac/silver, which it appears to be and is listed as. It looks authentic to me, but you ladies are the experts. Is there anything I need to be concerned with buying a Coach wallet on eBay other than possible counterfeits (stolen goods, etc.)? I hope I can get this wallet from somewhere.
