Just wanted to update you all on the Purple Gathered Sophia. I received it today, carefully packaged (even had airbags and JAX box, LOL!) and it is authentic. Hangtags and dustbag included. Immaculate, brand new with tag.

Thank you all again for helping me out, ladies!!! :D

Be sure to check here before you bid. The older classic bags including the Willis have often been faked, and some of the fakes are incredibly accurate right down to the feel of the leather. And always make sure the seller shows a good readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number.

I found one at a consignment shop in toronto but I couldnt figure out if it was real or not so it stayed in the store :( It was in really good shape though if it was real...wish I was better with authenticating lol

Hi ladies,

I'm new to this forum and I wondered if I could get an opinion on a bag I purchased the other day. I've seen plenty of black patchwork but never in this style and when I called the local Coach store they told me it must be fake because none of their style numbers start with 4.... So, the question is, have any of you seen this bag in this style and does this look authentic?

These 2 also, I didn't see any C's stamped in the leather on the back of the first one. Is that unusual? I'm not sure how the C's are supposed to line up on the second but I love it and have been looking for this style.

I don't see any problems with any of them. They appear to be okay although #1 should have a picture of the back and the inside of the bag. If there's a creed, she should show that too.

Please don't depend on the authentication skills of Coach employees. Most of them aren't familiar with much more than the current styles that they see in their stores and few employees are even as old as some of the styles you'll see!

Her comment about #1 being fake because styles don't begin with a "4" is baloney! A lot of Coach's smaller accessories such as pouches, wristlets and wallets begin with a 4.

OK, now you're scaring me. How did you ever dig that one up? I do not see any Feedback from that Buyer for that sale in her history at all. :confused1:

LOL! Nothing to be scared of! There's a wealth of information available on the internet and by googling. But this one was easy. She left feedback for the buyer (who never paid for it) on November 18.

I think it looks okay.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that the logo should be on the zipper pull but often, the more logos an item has, the more likely it is to be fake.

If you've been reading online guides on identifying authentic vs. fake Coach, you might have read misinformation.
