Oh YUCK!

Cheap nasty tacky piece of garbage NEVER made by Coach. Any time you see that "Coach" string of kindergarten letters draped over the front of a bag, it's 99.9 percent certain that it's fake. If you were going to bid but haven't - DON'T. If you're high bidder, DON'T pay.

And there's a LOT more that's wrong with it.

was 99% sure myself, especially the cheer/kindergaten letters...thanks! just wanted to make sure! and no, didnt bid :)

I posted this early today, I think it may have gotten missed?
thanks!

Sometimes when you don't get an answer it means that no one is familiar enough with the item to feel comfortable authenticating it. In this case the details of the bag seem ok but there's no photo of the creed patch. You might try contacting the seller and asking if they can send you a clear close-up of it.

Since I'm not familiar with the bag I can't help with your question about the color, sorry.

I had to make an on the spot buy of a Coach purse. I have no way to send a pic. I do believe it is authentic (I have 10 other coach bags), but cannot find the name of the bag on any sites. The number inside is A1026-F144588. It is a fairly small bag, Optic C in khaki/gold/tan, with silver hardware. The front bib is brown leather with Coach stamped in the leather that looks darker. It has a wide long strap that buckles on either side so can be can be used as shoulder bag or threaded through for use as handbag. It looks a lot like Ebay Item # 220685222481, with the scooped leather front and same pleats, except it is shorter with a formed bottom, no feet. Anyone want the challenge to help me out? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220685222481&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

From the number it's a Made-For-Factory bag and it's almost impossible to get names on those unless someone has the actual bag with a price tag or a receipt showing the abbreviated style name or there are some posted on Ebay. Some version of an Optic Hobo or East-West Duffle would be my guess, and usually it's mostly the Duffles that have the convertible straps. (BTW, you have one too many numbers in the second half of the serial number, there should only be 5 numbers after the F).

If you can manage to get photos of it and the other bags you bought, we can take a look. Can't help with the table though. :D

Comments: Please authenticate. This was posted in the Fakes thread but I think it could be OK. It definitely has me stumped:thinkin:. TIA!

Like BB said, some Scribbles, especially Hobos, can have uncentered C patterns but not as badly mismatched as this one. The blue "leather" is a bit too bright, that royal blue lining was never used in any Scribble, and the dustbag is fake. Scribbles wouldn't have had 2 hangtags either.

Report away! :graucho:

This is the one I was referring to, Hyacinth. I think it was on the eBay page about determining Coach fakes that was linked on TPF that had the tip about asking for a gift receipt, as the transaction number could then be verified. I realize that it is easy to make a fake receipt, but I thought I would ask the seller anyway.

The problem would be verifying the transaction number, since a Coach employee would have to do that and Coach's general policy is to not give any sort of verification or authentication. Of course every store has it's own rules depending on the manager and how well you know him/her or the SA. It's just not something that can be depended on.

And as BB said, it's very easy for a shady seller to buy a genuine bag with the correct style number and still send you a fake. With popular styles like Carlys, Sabrinas, and such, it happens more than you'd think. And fake receipts are available on the Internet if you know where to look. That's why Ebay doesn't accept a receipt as proof of authenticity for highly-faked items.

With wallets, actually examining it in person is still the best. Something will usually look, feel, smell, or sound "off" about a fake. Trouble is, Coach's quality control has weakened to the point where some wallets that I've examined at the outlets could have passed for fake if I'd seen them anywhere else. :-s

BTW, when I said on the spot, I mean I didn't have time to try to authenticate. I went to a Craigs list seller to look at a coffee table, but she was getting ready to have a rummage sale and had 2 coach purses in addition to VBradly ones hanging next to the table. I KNEW the other one was auth, so told her I was interested. Then she said "I have another one I'd sell, but my stuff is in it, I've been using that one. So she went in and brought that one out (with her wallet and stuff in it,lol)...it was a gorgeous small leather Sabrina...I tried not to light up. Anyway, I ended up buying all 3 and the damn table!
It's impossible to authenticate a bag based on someone else's pictures. We need to see actual pictures of the bags you bought.

In fact, you're describing a different bag (shorter and without feet) so again, the listing you're comparing is irrelevant to the bag you bought.

As for the other Sabrina you bought, it's probably a good idea to authenticate that too since there are some darned good Sabrina fakes.

Do not buy from traci9009. The bag in question is fake as is a completed listing for another non-Coach bag:

The seller also received a negative feedback for this fake she sold in October:

Wow, really? The quality control is that poor...yikes. Perhaps I should look elsewhere for a wallet? I had my eye on a Kate Spade, but the problem is that I am very choosy and cannot seem to find a wallet I like with twelve cc slots!
