Item: NTW Authentic COACH HANDBAG dust cover BOX
Listing number:120745617710
Seller: smilenaddison1

Looks fine.
I picked up this bag at a thrift store. I am not very familiar with the Coach brand so I can't tell if it is authentic.

The creed reads that it was"...handcrafted in China from the finest haircalf trimmed with genuine lamb nappa."

It has the bulls eye symbol on the creed plate, brass hang tag, snap closure and it came with a Coach pamplet.

Photos attached.

Thank you!
Authentic and nice find!

danicayaya: First red flag is that the hang tag looks fake.
Seriously? This hang tag is real?

Guess I learned something new then!
Yes, that particular hangtag is authentic.

danicayaya, it's been said before but it's worth repeating. Just because you aren't familiar with a style of bag, a pattern, a hangtag, the look of the creed, the color of a bag, etc., does NOT mean that it's a red flag!

The Chester Bag's measurements in Coach's Holiday 1993 catalog are listed as 9x7 inches, and the Canteen Bag as 7.5 x 6.5 inches, so the Chester would be the larger of the two. The Chester is style 9901 and was listed at $162 in 1993. The Canteen Bag 9982 listed for $142 in the Holiday 1995 catalog.

Thanks for the actual Coach measurements! I like the larger size better maybe gift the smaller one to my sister if I go for those two...There is a red one listed BIN for $97 and I am sooooo tempted I may actually do it. I'm dying for a unique red bag. The creed makes me believe it is older than the two black bags I am watching. Would this one be a canteen bag like the listing states or would it be a chester bag because it has the back zipper inside and the measurements are larger?

I just recently purchased this bag. Navy blue leather, great quality, I absolutely love the large metal closure. I just want to confirm that it is an authentic Coach. How about a Cashin Coach? :)

There is not a creed, just a small metal tag that reads COACH.

The brass front plate seems quite unusual (at least to me). The back of the "stick" part reads "Italy Solid Brass"

I hope I'm doing this right. I apologize if I'm not. This is my first post. :smile1:

Thanks in advance,

I just received in the mail the 1998 Chelsea legacy hobo - 6003 that I had ordered earlier this week. The bag is beautiful and as described; however, I'm a little concerned about the hang tag attached to it. It matches the grey colour of the leather, but it's not exactly like the hang tags that I'm used to on the newer bags. It is very soft and the word Coach appears quite flat on it (it doesn't bulge out as it does on the newer purses). It also doesn't have the metal surrounding on top. Is this characteristic of older hang tags? I hope that it doesn't undermine the authenticity of the bag?

I had the bag authenticated on here before purchasing. The seller is silver-coach who has been described as a reputable seller on here.

Here is the link to the listing - it states that it had ended but if you scroll down, it still has all the pictures and information.

Thank you!

That's the correct tag for the time period. Do a Search of "vintage Coach" on Ebay and look for other bags from the mid to late 1990s.

I believe it was already confirmed authentic at Ebay's forum. I've seen several bags like that before but I don't know any details about them. Maybe someone here can narrow down the time period or come up with a name.

Probably not a Cashin style although she may have designed some of the details. The metal plaque and lack of Cashin's signature "awning stripe" lining make it less than an even chance that it can be called a Bonnie Cashin design. Unfortunately way too many sellers stick Bonnie's name on anything they list that's more than 5 years old.

No idea on authentic or not (though I hope it's real)
I have to say I LOVE that bag and the closure part of it!!

Thanks for your speedy response Hyacinth. I only received 1 response on ebay's board :) I wanted to make sure more than one person thought authentic before (considering) selling it. I've tried googling around for a good timeline on when the little metal tags were used, but I couldn't find one. I just want to know as much as possible. :)

Could someone pls. tell me if this item is a real Coach? Thank you http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=170665169274

Sorry if I don't do this right. I have a hard time figuring out the links. Pat

First of all, please from now on use the format shown in the very first post in this thread when asking for authenticity. At least we'd be able to match the listing title or use the actual auction number if your links aren't working. And right now, neither of them are.

Which item are you asking about?

ETA - Looking at # 170665169274, the style looks like an old PDA case but the price tag shown in several of the photos is NOT from this item. I'm not sure if the seller's using that price tag especially since the item description on the price tag isn't really close to the item being sold "Minisig Soho Accordion Wallet" in Teal.

Please wait for DemRam or someone with more experience than I with vintage and Cashin-era bags.

There aren't enough clear photos of the second one 150630448329 to say either way, but I don't see any obvious signs of being fake.
