I need help. This coach bag is on Craigslist. My girlfriend loves Coach and doesn't care if I buy her a used bag because a new one just is too much for me to swing.

I found this bag and this guy attached like 10 pictures. Is this authentic or fake? Thanks :)
i'll upload more on the next post.

Hello all, can someone authenticate these for me? Thanks so much in advance! :smile1:

Item: Coach Vintage USA Station Bag Brown #5130

Seller: jessi319

Comments: The creed looks too light but I'm not sure if that's attributed to age.

Comments: I know the listing has ended, but just in case the seller relists the item, I am interested.

It looks okay though a picture of the creed should be shown.

I hope I attached the creed photo correctly; it was included in the seller's original listing. I thought the top right corner looked a bit strange, also had some sort of mark on it. Also, does the first set of numbers on the creed ever begin with "m"?

It looks fine.

Yes, creed prefixes can start with M, which indicates December. (The letter I was skipped because it was too easily confused with 1, although there are some instances where I was used.)

The mark on the upper right is an outlet bullet, indicating that the bag was an outlet purchase.

Thank you for the wealth of information! My head is truly spinning with so many fake or "not 100% accurate". I had absolutely no idea Coach was faked by so many, and so well. I can tell the obvious poor fakes online, but would not have thought there would be many on eBay. IMO, that is risky, right? If you are selling a fake and guaranteeing authenticity, wouldn't that be a problem? Can't those people be exposed and reported?
Whether a seller states that "authenticity is guaranteed" or not, by listing an item with a logo, they are implicitly guaranteeing authenticity. Since fakes are illegal and cannot be listed, whether they state it or not, the implication is that an item is authentic.

And yes, fakes can be reported. On the upper right under the seller information, there's a "report" button. Click on that and choose the appropriate reason for the report.

This was an easy one because the bag didn't come in a tattersall pattern.[/QUOTE

Thank you, I am still learning how to work this eBay opportunity without getting burned.
You're welcome. Ask questions here first and you will be less likely to be burned.
So, the online picture of the creed is from another bag, or completely faked?
Most fakes have creeds so the creed picture is probably from the bag.

Remember, anything that the designer puts on an item, the fakers can copy.
Here is the photo of the creed that the seller just emailed:
What do you think?
Looks okay.
