I'm sorry I came across as harsh but as a seller whose pictures (and/or descriptions) are stolen on a regular basis, I'm offended that picture theft is perceived as a harmless and victimless act. It's frustrating to scroll through ebay,
Amazon, Bonz, blogs, etc. and see your own pictures in someone else's listings. So yes, I do get angry and IMO, it's justified.
For the following statement, I'm not just referring to my listings, but those of other sellers too. Sellers who have long histories of selling and post many clear and definitive pictures in their listings spend hours taking those pictures, editing, cropping, re-taking blurry ones, uploading to photo-hosting sites, transferring the HTML links into listings then writing their descriptions. To prepare one listing from start to finish can take an hour or more.
And the design houses' photographers do the same thing when posting to the websites.
So for another seller to come along and take the easy "copy and paste" route is wrong! It's stealing, immoral, unethical and misleading to the buyers who think they are bidding on the item they will receive.
And just for the record (without trying to be argumentative), your completed listings also used many stock photos. And some of those listings showed none of your own pictures of the actual items.
As you say, you are an honest seller but when you are using the work belonging to others, your buyers don't know how honest you are.
