Comments: Are the above 2 items the real deal? Thank you.

The bag and scarf look fine.

Although I don't see any red flags on the wallet, I'm not familiar with the style so other opinions would help.

The wallet looks ok.

I just bought this. Unfortunately I bought it before having it authenticated.
These are the pictures from the seller.
Is this authentic? Its supposed to be a vintage legacy saddle bag 9988
TIA!

Hi ladies...could you please authenticate this bag for me? Thank you! Any idea on the year?

Oh my! :push: I don't mean to scare people! I could be way to picky.

Those Madison bags would be perfectly easy to care for if they were stored properly. Unfortunately, many were not.

I ONLY meant to point out that the leather on those Madison bags will not bounce back from a "ding"...you can't "rub it out" with conditioner like you can on the thick, squishy leather used on the vintage "classics" that we know.

ah ok so it's just storage dents? As long as it's not something I could manage to do haha! I am usually careful with bags but stuff happens and I wouldn't want to ruin a bag doing normal day to day stuff. I still have my eye on the red one :graucho:

If you accept the common Purse Forum definition of "vintage", it's technically not.

One thing I'm wondering about, DemRam - do you know when the A plant in NYC was officially closed down? I've never seen a bag even from as early as 1996 with an "A" plant code. According to MrHarley's guide the New York A plant was closed in the 1970s but recently we've seen several sample bags that are still apparently made by a skeleton staff in New York or at least in the US.

The Saddle Bag was officially introduced in the Spring 1997 catalog, so it's possible it's a pre-production model that was made in NYC as a sample or trial run. Otherwise that A code shouldn't appear in a 1996 bag. Without having more photos and a known genuine Saddle Bag to compare it to, it's a question mark.

I found a bag that sold back in 09 or so. I dont know if this happens to be the same bag but please check this out and tell me what you think. thanks

Hi guys! Just dropping by to let you know that I'm still around. Wow, it's been awhile! I've been on a sort of hiatus for some time. I do miss being on here and I hope to start catching up soon.

It's good to see the regulars still on here.

Hyacinth - Thanks for the welcome back you posted quite awhile ago the last time I was on. I'm sorry I didn't stick around. But I wanted to let you know that I did see your post and thank you for thinking of me!

BB - Thanks for your PMs - you may have something to do with me coming back on here! :D

I have A LOT to catch up on, but hopefully with things winding down in my "other" life, I'll have more time now. :smile1:

I have a Madison Sutton that I just LOVE (see avatar), but it came to me with some dents and a little crushed on one side, I stuffed it to the brim and wiped it down with a damp cloth, and it has helped a lot. I think it will continue to improve as time goes by as well. I think if you store properly you shouldn't have a problem. GL finding your perfect red bag!

There's really no way to tell if they're the same bag without more photos.

Older Coach bags were surprisingly easy to fake and often discrepancies in the creed may be the only warning signs. The one you bought has a discrepancy and it's really hard to say if it's genuine because there's a code in the creed that based on Coach's history or at least what little we know of it, shouldn't be there. I can think of one possible scenario where that code may have been used but it's pretty remote. But of course there's always the possibility that someone just made a mistake.

Sometimes we just can't be sure.
