The second one is authentic. It's a Prarie bag from 1996. I'm not sure what you mean about the trim.

do you remeber this? the guys says he will not refund my money unless i send the bag first. I dont want to send the bag till i get them money..i said i can go to the resolution center, he says go ahead. the listing is gone now, as ebay with drew it. do you think i should just send the money, or go to the resalution center? thanks so much

I have never had to open a dispute, so I would wait for other opinions on how to proceed.

I do believe that going through the dispute process means you have to return the item before you are issued a refund IF Paypal tells you to.

I don't recall the fake bag, but since it has been removed by ebay, that should work in your favor.

Wait for someone more experienced with these things.

PS. Would you post the ID of the seller of the fake bag?

Comments: It appears real but it doesn't state anywhere that it's guaranteed authentic.
Looks fine. Just for the record, it really isn't necessary for sellers to "guarantee authenticity" or state authenticity because by ebay policy, EVERY item is authentic. The fact that dishonest sellers list fakes just means they are violating policy.

But lack of "authenticity" statements really doesn't prove anything one way or the other. And in fact, often, it's the counterfeit sellers who "guarantee authenticity" probably because they want buyers to believe that they wouldn't offer a guarantee unless the item were genuine.

Even with a paypal dispute, you have to return the item before paypal will release the money.

If the seller agrees to refund your entire payment, including shipping, then
send it back but be sure to use delivery confirmation. And if it makes you feel more comfortable, you can also pay for signature confirmation, which means he'll have to sign for it.

If he doesn't agree to refund shipping, file a dispute, state in the dispute that the listing was removed for trademark infringement (as well as any other details you want to add) and that you want a refund.

Paypal will either tell you to return the bag to the seller (in which case return shipping will be on your dime) or they will give you other instructions, sometimes directing you to destroy it.

Once you do whatever it is that paypal requires, they'll issue your refund.

The stitching on this wallet looks bad. In my opinion, I think this is a fake, however, someone out there may be an authority-thanks!

That's fake.

The same seller had a horrible fake patchwork hobo bag removed the other day.

In addition to ease of searching, this is another reason why we ask people to use the posting format indicated in Post #1 so we can see the who the seller is when a fake item has been removed. That way we can check the seller's other items and also check for relists.

Example:

Item: Coach Denim Patchwork Clutch Wallet
Listing number: 150373822848
Seller: iwannaprada

Comments: Fake wallet. Please report.

Also, what is that little "pin" next to the creed? I've seen it a few times before but I don't know what it is...

TIA!

The rivet in the lining is put there by some department stores as a way of marking sale items to prevent full-price retail returns. Some department stores may put the rivet on the creed or punch a hole in the creed for this same purpose.

This is a Clover Leather Duffle, not an Ali. I can't quite make out the serial number on the creed, and it looks like there's an additional mark or letter stamped at the end of the serial number. It kind of looks like a "W" but it looks like it was added there separately from the rest of the serial number.

This auction shows a Clover Duffle, style #13890:

This is interesting because the style number has a W at the end of it. Some of us were speculating as to what the W means. It seems to be something similar to the "P" at the end of style numbers for pilot bags. I was told by Coach that they may put different letters at the end of style numbers as a way of tracking test or pilot bags in different markets.

I find it interesting that both Clover bags were bought at department stores and both sellers are located in California. I wonder if "W" stands for "West", or if this is the way Coach is now marking their pilot bags for department stores?

FYI, the first seller has confirmed that the serial number on the creed is D0968-13890W.

And don't forget to take good clear photos of the bag before you send it, especially areas like the inside pocket and the full creed stamp.
