I have an interesting Station Bag for you - could you please authenticate? Thank you!

Item: Station Bag
Seller: Estate sale (in my possession)
Dimensions: 10 x 8 3/4 x 1 3/4
Comments: The creed is stamped in the front compartment! Trigger snaps are a wee bit different than on my 90's one. Could the stamping be an 80's quirk?

It's fine. I've seen other station bags stamped there. I think it was probably a mistake as it is a small minority.

Item Name: COACH Shoulder Bag "Leatherware" 1980's NYC Burgundy "Patricia's Legacy" Flap Front (provided by seller, would love to know if this is the correct name)

This is my really spontaneous etsy purchase and I'm hoping it's ok. I appreciate your expertise. I'm worried about how bubbly the Coach font is...

Thanks in advance!
It's authentic. Your seller is wrong about the name. Patricia's Legacy wasn't introduced until 1994, so you will never see a Patricia with NYC creed. This is a classic pouch, also called a classic shoulder bag, #9170. It is the inspiration for the current saddle bag and deemed by some to be the first Coach bag. The burgundy color is gorgeous!

Aaand here's another ill-advised purchase without authenticating first from my day of discovery of vintage Coach.

Item Name: COACH Black Patricia's Legacy Flap Cross Body Messenger Bag Purse
Seller: forgefocus
Item ID (ebay): 162065509122
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/162065509122 (I am including pictures b/c the ones in the listing are pretty terrible. Honestly, I should not have bought this, but was in a state of excitement about vintage bags and rehab and such.)

I believe that says F6D-9951

Thanks!
This one is authentic too and is really a Patricia's Legacy. You'll note that Patricias always have a zipper to close the main compartment.

Thanks so much! I love the burgundy. :-)

Not sure of where to pose this question, but hoping you'd be able to provide insight. Do you know if there is an authentication thread for LeSportsac? Thanks!
I don't know if there is one on TPF but I do recall Hyacinth being knowledgeable of the brand from many years ago. She might still be able to help.

Both Whateve and BeenBurned have a lot more real-life Coach experience than I do, but I don't remember seeing any Coach accessories or bags with thin linings, knit or otherwise. The fabrics I've seen have always been able to stand up to a good scrubbing with a small scrub brush or a Magic Eraser. And a few of my Ebay purchases have needed a LOT of scrubbing!

It was BAD!! I'm sorry I didn't take pictures for the forum. I was so disgusted with it in the moment I just had my husband put it back.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/351720975801

Could someone please look at this purse I just bought..now that I got it I'm worried it's not real! The hang tags are blank, is that something coach does? Also there are no numbers on the label inside. Can post pictures if it would help! Feeling lost here!

Thanks BB! Hyacinth, I wasn't sure where to post but I know you're one of the main contributors to this thread. Do you think you could take a look at this LeSportsac in my possession to confirm its authenticity? Thanks so much!

I remember those!! I didn't have one, but my mom had one in brown. The fabric design choices are much better. A client at work has one with dogs and bones.

I've never looked at that line, but now I might - that's really cute.

I can't be of much help with authenticating it but I don't see any problems. The fabric texture looks right and it doesn't have any of those awful rainbow-colored plastic zippers that show up on so many LS fakes, and the fakes makers often get the trim color wrong.

There's an Authenticate This LeSportsac/Tokidoki thread somewhere on tPF but it's dormant most of the time: There haven't been any posts since last September but you can always try and see what happens.

Welcome to TPF!

Post #1 lists what we need for authentications and for newer style bags (since 2014) when Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds, there are additional pictures we need to see in order to accurately assess a bag.
http://forum.purseblog.com/showpost.php?p=27792584&postcount=1

This part is especially important:
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
  • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
  • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.

I assume you've received the bag already? Please post the additional pictures that aren't shown in the listing. I'd also like to see the hangtags.
