Hello ladies! Could you please check out this thrifted Court with the mystery strap? Thank you!

Item: Court
Seller: Goodwill (in my possession)
Dimensions: 9 1/4W, 8"T, 3 1/2"D
Comments: Any thoughts on the non-original strap? It's 3/4" wide, 1/8" thick, and about 47" long incl. snaps. The other trigger snap straps I have are adjustable...

Reminds me of the trigger snap strap on my large Plaza Bag.

If found this patchwork wristlet too!! Any thoughts?

Wait for BeenBurned or Whateve to confirm, but this should be style 40282 from around 2005-06. And it's a big "Rule"-breaker since it's one of the only Patchwork styles (mostly wristlets) where the front and back patches are almost completely different.

First pic is Coach's own website photo of the front, followed by one of your photos of the back.

Thank you, Hyacinth!! I haven't paid much attention to patchwork items. I often thought they were just a way to use leftovers. ETA: Did you use the wayback machine? Do you have issues with it? (ie. pictures not loading)

That too. :D

And that's one of the reasons they're so popular with fakes makers. They can also throw any kind of horrible or non-authentic fake pattern patches on them and most people will never notice. Or they'll go the REALLY cheap route and just use a basic Signature C panel on the back.

But most genuine Patchworks, at least with handbags, will have the same patches front and back although they might be reversed or might have a pocket covering part of the patchwork.

The wristlet is fine.

This is the image of hers that most closely matches the stock picture. It looks like the lower left corner color is different from the stock image.

True. It'd be pretty easy to map one of these out with faker fabric. One thing I will say about this wristlet....the fabric seems very "coach", including the lining fabric (weight, feel). My husband showed me another coach at the thrift. The lining fabric was beige and had the weight and texture of a light jersey knit. I'm not sure it was fake, but it didn't look right.

Thank you, Whateve!! I thought of you while shopping. It's unusual for me to find a coach at the thrift store, let alone the wristlet too. I also found a Givenchy. I think it may have been authentic vintage, but in rough shape. The finish on the leather was flaking off. I didn't get it.
Thanks for thinking of me! I rarely find Coach at any thrift store near me, let alone anything made of real leather. It was a thrill to find a Gucci in a nearby town. Heaven knows how it got there since I've never seen anyone within 100 miles with a Gucci. I've seen quite a few premium vintage bags with flaking leather listed for ridiculous amounts online. I have no idea how you would restore that. To me it shows that vintage Coach is superior since the leather lasts virtually forever.

Yes, my large Plaza has the same strap. I'm sure if someone owned several bags at once they could have interchanged the straps, or they may have gotten it as a replacement from Coach. Ravvie99's bag would have been in Coach stores at the same time as the Plaza. I wonder if there was any reason Coach used trigger snaps on some styles and dogleash on others.

We must be in the worst places to find things. When I pulled the duffle off the rack I just gaped at it. Lol!! I found 2 bags and a wristlet this year so it's better than usual. About the Givenchy..the leather was nice, but thin. It had a light pebbled finish that was flaking off like scales. It was lined in butter soft glove leather and in perfect shape. It was the kind of bag that was meant for light use and carefully stored in the purse closet until it's matching outfit was worn again.

Both Whateve and BeenBurned have a lot more real-life Coach experience than I do, but I don't remember seeing any Coach accessories or bags with thin linings, knit or otherwise. The fabrics I've seen have always been able to stand up to a good scrubbing with a small scrub brush or a Magic Eraser. And a few of my Ebay purchases have needed a LOT of scrubbing!

Ah, this all makes total sense to me - thank you both! To me, the triggers look a wee bit out of proportion for the reg. court but to each his own.

This is my really spontaneous etsy purchase and I'm hoping it's ok. I appreciate your expertise. I'm worried about how bubbly the Coach font is...

Thanks in advance!

Aaand here's another ill-advised purchase without authenticating first from my day of discovery of vintage Coach.

Item Name: COACH Black Patricia's Legacy Flap Cross Body Messenger Bag Purse
Seller: forgefocus
Item ID (ebay): 162065509122
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/162065509122 (I am including pictures b/c the ones in the listing are pretty terrible. Honestly, I should not have bought this, but was in a state of excitement about vintage bags and rehab and such.)
