Hello, can someone please authenticate this purse purchased on Poshmark.

Item: vintage Coach satchel
Listing number: unknown
Seller: lsavitt
Link: https://poshmark.com/listing/Vintage-coach-satchel-5686f34a44adba4f7605e1af

Dimension: 9 1/2 (L) x 8 1/4 (H) x 3 (D)

Comments: The purse looks like a court, however, the creed is difficult to read since it's faint but it says "L4C-9955 or L4C-9956" and there is a line around the creed. There's an opening on the top where the handle is attached looks bigger than expected. In addition, the backside of the turnlock plate has indentation on it. I compared it to my Court bag and these are the differences that I have noticed. The overall quality of the bag including the stitching does not look authentic.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't know if your seller is honest enough to actually want to hear the truth - I doubt it - but you might also point out to her is that the serial number L4C-9956 has been KNOWN TO ALWAYS BE FAKE for at least the last 8 years and probably longer.

*snip*

Point out to your seller that not only has the number been declared as "always fake" here at tPF and also by my friend Daria48 in her ongoing Coach Fakes List posted at Ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/gds/Fake-Coach-Serial-Numbers-NT-4903-and-more-/10000000002744619/g.html

but if she had actually Searched for "Coach L4C-9956" on Google, she would have found links to BOTH guides. Too bad she's too greedy to want to hear the truth. THE FIRST HALF DOZEN LINKS GO RIGHT TO VARIOUS DISCUSSIONS HERE and to EBAY'S GUIDES AND POSTS AT THEIR ARCHIVED DISCUSSION FORUM.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...avclient-ff&rlz=1B3GGGL_enUS363US350&ie=UTF-8

Please feel free to copy this post and send it to her, and a copy to whoever at Poshmark handles complaints about counterfeit items along with what the other experts here have already told you about the fake you received, and WHY it's fake.
Hyacinth, I don't think lsavitt is going to admit to having erred. If you scroll down the Q&A in her listing, she was told over 24 hours ago that the bag is fake and was given a link to the authentication.

In fact, she told the "informant" that "Anyone who knows coach and knows their products can tell this is an authentic coach bag. Vintage coach wouldn't maintain quality and appearance if it was fake."

Thank you whateve, BeenBurned, and Hyacinth! I greatly appreciate your help.
Please let us know how this dispute works out. I don't know Poshmark's policy on disputes (though I've never been successful in getting a fake listing removed) nor do I know whether you can leave sellers appropriate feedback.

Hello ladies! Could you please check out this thrifted Court with the mystery strap? Thank you!

Item: Court
Seller: Goodwill (in my possession)
Dimensions: 9 1/4W, 8"T, 3 1/2"D
Comments: Any thoughts on the non-original strap? It's 3/4" wide, 1/8" thick, and about 47" long incl. snaps. The other trigger snap straps I have are adjustable...

It's fine. The strap is fine. Coach didn't start offering an adjustable strap on court bags until the late 90s, although all my courts had dogleash clips rather than trigger clips.

Thank you!! My other Courts have the dog leash clips, too, so the triggers threw me. Didn't know about the switch to adjustable straps - thanks!

It's fine. I have one of these in my rehab pile. I'm probably going to have to dye it.

Thank you, Whateve!! I thought of you while shopping. It's unusual for me to find a coach at the thrift store, let alone the wristlet too. I also found a Givenchy. I think it may have been authentic vintage, but in rough shape. The finish on the leather was flaking off. I didn't get it.
