It's a genuine Baxter Bag, but from the early 1990s, not the 1970s. The incorrect date is the only inaccuracy.

Comment: buckle stamped "Coach"; shiny thread?

Both the buckle and the hangtag are fake. I've never seen strap attachment buckles in that position except for the old Saddle Pouches. And you're right about the thread, that's definitely NOT the kind Coach used. The spaces in the "scars, scratches and wrinkles" line in the creed are HUGE and at least 2 spaces too long on either side of "scratches". And Coach NEVER stamped the buckles of bags until some time around 1996-97. That creed wording is from before 1994. The shape of the buckles isn't right either

Make sure that your photos aren't too big. Anything wider than about 1500 pixels can cause problems.

The listing has Poofed, but you're right about the Z plant code. The only photo in my files from the mid-90s is from 1997 and is for the Dominican Republic plant. Both the creed and the number fonts are different from the one you posted. There'[s also a faint stamped border that's around at least the entire style number of the one you posted, rather that it having individually-stamped numbers.

Thanks for confirming. I only knew Z as being a DR plant too.

Unfortunately, I doubt that Etsy will remove the listings.
