"Eon" is about right. From the font used in the Coach stamp, my guess would be later 1990s at best.

Genuine, but probably not even vintage yet. And just about as related to Cashin as I am to the Queen of England (regardless of what my alter ego thinks!).

more photos here: in the 3rd photo at the bottom is a white stripe of undyed leather.

I don't see any problems.

Neither do I. Stitching on Coaches wasn't always perfect, we've mentioned that before. And leather stiffness can be caused by many different things, from the way the hide itself takes to the tanning process, to how much the bag been used or NOT used, to what kinds of treatments the owners have given - or NOT given - the leather.

It's a genuine Winnie Bag from 1997.

BTW, cwxx, those thin strips of "undyed" leather sometimes found in vintage Coaches are NOT undyed - they're where the top layer of leather including the dyed layer was shaved off by Coach's leatherworkers so the seams would be easier to sew.

Hyacinth, thanks for educating us on the "undyed" leather. Learned something new today!!

This came yesterday. Just opened the package. From the title, I should have known better. What was I thinking??!! Has a black nylon fabric lining with little diamond shapes. Lining only covers the sides. Embossed Coach is stamped on the middle bottom of the bag. Please confirm this is a fake before I contact the seller. :smash:

I've never seen that kind of lining in a Coach cosmetic bag before, has anyone else? The rest of the seller's pictures are too poor to be comfortable making any kind of authentication, but the hangtag was added later and the Coach logo's "skinny" font isn't much older than 20 years. Better pictures of the lining and the full length of the zipper pull would help.

Lining, zipper, zipper pull, and logo photos. Logo is Center d near bottom, not off to the side.

Really? Thanks. But why might I be having trouble with the zipper? It gets stuck in a sideways position and then makes it hard to zip up the bag. I thought Coach bags were better than that....

O_o

Ugh sorry for posting twice how do I delete my previous post >_<
Sometimes they are harder to zip when the bag is empty. Rub some soap along the zipper and then zip it several times. It should help.

Candle wax can help too.

Thanks to both for the quick reply! Good to know its authenticate - that's why I come to this forum as I only have my small winne collection of 2 to compare purchases to - also thanks for the info about the 'white' part - interesting to know. Btw, I was wondering if this bag might be an 'outlet' bag, if that was a thing in 1997, since there's a small circle with a c embossed on the right of the creed? You can kinda see it on the right edge of the last pic on my first post. Thanks again!

Could I please get authentications on these 3 thrifted finds? Thank you!

Item: Basic Bag
Seller: Goodwill (in my possession)
Dimensions: 10.5 x 7 x 2
Comments: The anchors made me do it! The creed flap is very crooked and stitching didn't catch edges in 2 places. Is there also too much extra space between 'Coach' and the creed wording? I left on what I believe are crafty DIY strap shortening apparati on the d-rings. Front and back of bag look the same.

Bumpity bump? :smile1:

ETA: The original picture links didn't carry over - it's post 14527. Thank you!

FWIW, I looked at my other Basic bag and the creed flap is crooked on that one, too, though it's not nearly as bad and the stitching caught all the edges. Apples and oranges due to age differences in the two, but I'd never noticed crooked creed flaps on any bags before now.
