The one in my files has larger clear jewels in the centers of the flowers and slightly different colors.

The one in my files has a pink, not red, purse and pink sunglasses.

According to the drilldown photo, all the crystals in # 1726 should be clear.

The font used on the hangtag on the fake 92289 is completely wrong, along with the colors of those charms.

Both are fake.

#4 looks good.

Both are fake. She doesn't say that her items, “NEW… without tags… EXCELLENT Condition! We purchase DIRECTLY from the Designers & Retailers!” actually come from retailers of genuine Coach items!

According to the drilldown photo, all the crystals in # 1726 should be clear.

The font used on the hangtag on the fake 92289 is completely wrong, along with the colors of those charms.

Both are fake.
Thanks. I was pretty sure.

That's a very nice bag. The color combination reminds me of the denim/leather version of the double-kisslock Swing bag that was issued once-upon-a-time. And yes, the larger size is indeed more useful. I've presently five different 1960s styles (metal tagged with striped fabric linings) sitting here on the workbench, all with relatively small compartments (8" wide x 6" high x 3" deep or so). Certainly not designed to carry much. Part of Cashin's idea of simultaneously carrying multiple bags (for multiple purposes) I suppose.

The largest bags I have from that era are rigid-handled predecessors to the #9546 Skinny Tote (and an Attache) and they don't afford that much volume either. I'm still looking to find examples of the larger barrel or zippered duffels from that era to add to the collection and am still kicking myself for having missed on a couple of opportunities over the past 12 months.

Thanks again for sharing. One of these days, someone should assemble an open virtual museum of the great designs (since COACH's own archives are akin to a museum's inaccessible storage area). Fom my perspective, all those individual Pinterest pages out there just don't cut it. I'd certainly volunteer photos of the 50 or so metal-tagged bags I have here.
I'd love a virtual museum and I'd love to see photos of your bags. The forum has a reference library with a vintage section. I'd love to see something that was organized by date and style number.

Could someone please give me an authentication assessment? And please cut up my credit card and close Goodwill. Thank you!

Item: NYC Dinky

Good morning all. I happened upon this listing and have my suspicions and would like to test my "knowledge."

Item: Vintage Coach Sonoma Satchel in Chocolate BROWN Leather Creed # 4921 EUC Listing number: 131741495486
Seller: 1949treasures (2864 )
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/13174149548...1&exe=13926&ext=35633&sojTags=exe=exe,ext=ext

Comments:
Several red flags:

"B6B" and "Made in Italy" on the creed tag. Shouldn't the 2nd B in the ID should be an E since that's the plant code for Italian production? Doesn't a B in that third location communicates that the bag was made at COACH's Miami, FL (?) USA facility?

Shouldn't the lining should be Sonoma signature 1/8" wide gray & black stripes?

The dog-leash fittings at the ends of the straps are not at all like the the unique conical headed lobster-claw ones used by the Italians on the #4921 bags I've seen.

I was using the relevant page from the Spring 1997 catalog, as well as a November 1995 bag I have here as the basis for these observations. So what do y'all think?

Thanks for giving this a look.

Clearly I need to get off eBay for the sake of my credit card! I am wondering about this bag:

Item: Vintage Coach Saddlery Bag
Listing number: 391402586848
Seller: devonsnew2you
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-COACH-Saddlery-Bag-9535-NYC-Tabac-Brown-Leather-Equestrian-Shoulder-Bag-/391402586848?hash=item5b216982e0:g:BusAAOSwv9hW4B1L
Comments: Love the style, but even if it is authentic, I'm not sure if I can get over the wonky stitching on the bottom piping. Debating.
If I recall correctly, the #9535 Saddlery Bag was introduced Summer of 1986. So it was in production the following year when Coach started moving production out of NYC to other facilities. I've a NYC-made #9790 City Bag from that period that has similar, as you put in, "wonky" stitching and should never have been let out of the factory. I'm suspecting that the quality of the bags produced during the time that the NYC employees knew that their jobs were "heading south" may have suffered a bit. But that's just my suspicion and I'd like to hear anyone else's opinion.
