That's the correct option to choose. That option usually makes it so the seller has to pay for return shipping.

But since you're in the UK, I'm not sure how the return shipping works as far as who pays for the label.

Since these are international purchases, it's a PITA and can be expensive for returning in the event ebay makes you pay shipping. PLEASE, PLEASE have items authenticated before buying them!

ETA: I take issue with ebay and/or Paypal telling buyers to destroy items because there have been too many cases where items that were alleged to be fake were actually authentic and buyers either submitted false (un)authentications or the authenticators made mistakes.

But in these cases of the fake Willises, if the sellers are smart, they'll allow you to destroy the bags yourself and issue refunds. Since they can't relist or sell the bags anywhere anyway, for either you or the seller to pay return shipping is a waste of time and money.

Good news, both have agreed to pay for shipping them items back. *connee* did ask how she could authenticate her bags going forward so I did direct her to here. She was very apologetic and if you guys saw the bag in person would swear it was real (the feel of the leather etc) and I know there are some really good counterfeit bags out there. Its a shame its counterfeit as it was a nice bag. junkrwe I guess figured after I said they listed fakes in the past decided to suck it up and pay the postage. Hopefully he/she will learn and stop listing them. Grrrrrrr.

It's fine. That happened to me once on ebay. The listing said "don't expect an authentic bag for $10!" I bought it before ebay removed it. It was a Madison!

Excellent news! Thanks, whateve. I never expected much from Coach store sp's in terms of being competent in classic bags. I told myself: the worst that can happen - I'll have $15 worth leather for tassels of pretty good quality. I also bought once almost new little Park signature bag on Craigslist that was "not authentic because there was no patch inside". Too bad for every such bag I see hoards of terrible fakes on Craigslist, and every time I encounter one I desperately search Report button only to realize it's not eBay...

Hello ladies, that's actually the case when the seller says the bag is fake, but I'm about 98% sure it's not. Bought the bag locally at a moving sale a couple months ago, and the nice woman who was selling it told me the bag is not authentic. When I asked her how did she know, she said she bought it back in the 90-s from someone she didn't know well, then took it to the Coach store and the sales rep said she didn't recognize the numbers on the patch and the purse is most likely fake. If thanked the honest seller for telling me story but took my chances. Thank you for your opinion in advance! Here're the pictures:

And that's why we recommend "authenticating" items at Coach as the last and least dependable place to go!

Congrats to both of you.

Actually, CL does have a "prohibited" button to use for reporting fakes.

Getting them removed is another story but if they aren't flagged, they certainly won't get taken down.

Good evening everyone. Could someone please authenticate these bags for me? There are 4 altogether, all variations on a theme, and all in my possession purchased from thrift stores over the last several months.

Coach Pocket Purse or Penny Bag? 9755
9" x 6" x 2" with 44" strap
Note: The lobster claw clasp on the strap was bad in a way I've not seen before; the center post that allows the clasp to swivel slides right through the hole in the base of the clasp. The hole is oblong instead of round but I'm not sure if the problem is the hole in the clasp or perhaps the end of the post has been slowly worn into a narrower shape. Has anyone seen this before?

Is this hangtag authentic? It is coming apart at the top where the chain would go through. It is flipped over to see both sides of it.
Thank you

Hangtags are easy to fake and hard to authenticate. I don't see any obvious problems but that doesn't prove anything, and older hangtags 15 or 20 years old and older WERE made in 2 pieces and often did come apart, but so did some fake ones.

Coach City Bag (9790) xxx-xxxx
11" x 8" x 3 3/4"
Note; The turn part of the turn lock is busted so I started to take it apart then realized I hadn't checked with you guys to make sure it is worth my efforts. Also the rectangular rings at the sides are mangled and so the strap is off so I didn't measure the length. This is a pretty sorry sight but I know she can be pretty again with some TLC!

Seems ok.

One more question: the hang tag from the Convertible clutch above has a weird cut pattern on it. I was just wondering if you think that is from a bored previous owner or maybe some labeling of the leather and the scrap was used for a hangtag? It looks like maybe a number, maybe 37?
