Just considering the serial number for now, that's dated at exactly the same time Coach was changing from the 4-digit, and sometimes even 3-digit, style numbers they used up until 2005 and even into 2006, to the 5-digit style numbers. The 2 formats crossed over, the earliestI 5-digit one I've seen was an M053-10307, and also a style 10001 with a B06Q- month code, and a 10015 with a B06W- prefix. But they were also still making bags with 3-digit style numbers well into the middle of 2006

So it's completely possible that they would have used a 3-number style number in a pilot bag made at the very start of 2006, before the style number change took effect through all the plants, and a number in the 800s fits the time range. 10125 was officially a late summer or early Fall 2006 release although they apparently started making them in Spring 2006, I think. So I don't have any problem with the number.

And if that hasn't bored you completely - as for the bag's details, the leather tab for the top clip is pretty badly sewn, but that could probably happen with pilot bags. And if it is an actual pilot, some of the details would have been tweaked a bit before full production anyway. So yes, I THINK it's ok but like "sample" bags, it's hard to give a solid authentication.
Thank you. You didn't bore me but I already spend way too much time researching this type of stuff so it's right up my alley.

It was the stitching that threw me off, not taking into account the serial/date/style chanrges that were happening at the same time.

Yes, I knew that.

Sorry. After I'd posted, I realized you already realized it was fake but I was too busy looking up the seller's record and glossed over it in your post.
Hi I just purchased this Coach Edie bag from ebay. Can anybody authentic it. I'm hoping it's real. However, I cannot find a serial on it.

seller: codeman-2010
listing number: 182018556279
url: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/182018556279?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

I uploaded 2 extra pics thanks
So far, it seems good but if you notice post #1, it's been revised to request that "Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number." (Thanks, GreenPixie!)

You've shown the tag where made but there should be another showing a serial number, either inside the pocket or near the "made in" label. I'm guessing it's in the zipper pocket since you'd have seen it when photographing the Vietnam tag.

Hi. I'm uploading the serial number now. It took me a while to find it, it was in the zippered pocket. Thanks in advance

Good evening again. Time for my next round of authentication requests. Four items that apparently have been removed from storage bins by XJZ and photographed. If only I could remember where these bags came from.

Tonight's first request is for what appears to be a blue-black style 9565 Large Shopping Bag. It measures 12-1/2" wide x 14" tall x 3-1/2" deep (at the bottom) and has 10" drop straps.

As always, thank you for sharing your expertise.

Wow, that's beautiful! It's authentic.

The second item is a very dark brown XL Shopper whose style number and correct name I can't seem to find. It's measurements are similar to the previously verified 5190 Envelope Portfolio and are 15-1/2" wide x 12" tall x 3" deep with straps having an 11' drop.

Your critique and input are both requested and welcomed. Thanks.

Moving right along here.... The third item looks to be a burgundy style 9665 Marketing Tote and I can see that I need to attend to the inside bottom suede panel. It measures 14-1/2" wide x 9-1/2" tall x 3-1/2" deep and has straps with a 10" drop. I wonder how many of bag styles of that era used the long tab exterior strap anchors? A dozen or more?

Wow, that's beautiful! It's authentic.
Thanks for the verification. Indeed, it is a real nice example. There's a break in the binding along the upper edge that I'm debating whether to repair (by sewing & gluing a thin overlay extending four or five stitches to both sides of the break). But it's not in a normally stressed area, so I may just leave it alone.
